There are several discussions regarding transport of vehicles. I arranged for the transport of a vehicle for my son to and from CT. Its not inexpensive, but definitely less than the purchase of a second vehicle.

You will have to either drive it there or hire a transport company to move it.

I remember how neat it was when jeff graduated from bootcamp to watch the flag carriers. but it was hard on them and a big responsiblity because all the sailors watch the person with the flag !

I went to boot camp way back when Orlando, when divisions were "companies". I designed our company flag, I got to carry it. There is more than one flag! Anyway, we practiced gliding up silently behind the newbie companies who were standing in the ...

Your husband is adorable ! Those flags get really heavy. My daughter had to carry one too.

my husband was a flag carrier and he is on the short side so I do think that is one of the reasons. he did say that it was his hardest thing in bootcamp to be "kept" on carrying his flag. he had to work VERY hard at it and the only reason he did i...

i know in my division, they picked the shortest people in the division...this is so that the front of the division doesnt "run away" from the rest of the body.......it allows us to stay dressed off easier, and move at a steady pace

Hey Letha, How does your son like Mayport? Bryce LOVES it!!! Do you know that the Taylor has been tied up to Bryce's ship, the Roberts, there at port? When he told me that, I immediately thought of you! Hope all is well. :))

Hi! I just saw your post in the QM group. Our son is on the Samuel B Roberts. I figured it was too good to be true that our boys would be on the same ship. I wonder if they know each other, though?

Hi Letha! He actually phased up to phase 2 right before Memorial Day so we went in and got him for the weekend. It was wonderful having him home for a couple of days. Hoping to go in and spend the weekend in there for the 4th of July. I hope you get to go visit this weekend! Have a great night.

OMG! That's funny. Small world. Matt was really happy with the move over to the Decatur. It's a newer ship than the Franklin. Have a great day! Looks like we are going to have some good weather finally! Dawn

I did have a good weekend, even tho Kyle spent most of his leave time with his friends. But that is ok, he needed that . I drove him back to GL last evening, ate a late supper with him and then dropped him off at the base at 11pm IL time. He did not need to be back until 11:59pm. I then drove back home and pulled in my drive at 5am. It's a 4 1/2 hr trip one-way if the traffic is good. Since I had to work today you could say I am one very tired mom. But I will do it again in a heart beat if he gets another opportunity. :-) One of his best friends just graduated from Marine boot camp last Friday and he was home as well. They both got to march together in their full uniforms in our local Memorial Day Parade. That was pretty awesome. A few tears rolled :-)
