Hi my son is no longer at Whidbey. He is on deployment. He has really good friends there though. They go off base for church. Can you tell me your daughters rate. Theses guys are AT's and still in C school. My son was TAD with the VP 46's while he was there and there is a bunch of good guys in that squadron. I know there are some other mom's that have girls that recently went to Whidbey. Hopefully she can get with them. My sailor said there isn't a lot to do there if you don't have wheels. He had several friends with cars. That helped a lot. I went there to visit my sailor over the Easter Holiday, it's a nice area. Very pretty. Let me know her rate and I'll see if I can send one of the guys a text to look for her. I'll send up an extra prayer for her. My oldest is my daughter and she is also very quiet. She teaches school in Montana and has been there a year and has yet to meet any one her own age. I know it can be tough on them. Best Wishes to you and your sailor.

Thanks for the support, It's me more than him that needs to "hang in there!" LOL I see him in just 1 more day! Matt hasn't been assigned a C School, yet and said he probably won't be unless and until his reserve battalion is deployed. We can hope "never" but know it is probably inevitable.

Laureen,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I don't seem to have very much time lately to check in with everyone. How is Libby doing? Bryan is still waiting for school to start. He does his share of "Shining the Ship" from what he says. He has just started doing PT 3x a week with the other AO's and he has made some friends as well. He has lucked out with his roommates, they all seem to get along. I'm located in Linthicum. Gotta run for now. Talk soon. You can e-mail me directly at md2ia2md@yahoo.com Take care, Mary

Hi Laureen,

a lot of people have been asking about that. actually that is what the recruiter told us, and told my mom last week. Of course we have been given different info on LOTS of things from the recruiter that was not FACTUAL!

THanks

Hey Libby! We got THE call this afternoon! I have an official SAILOR! Turns out, he is the first one to enter the hall. He is part of the drumline, not the general band. I can hardly swallow when I think about hearing his voice this afternoon.
