It's amazing how the Navy transforms these "boys" into polite young men. I'm so glad that you got to spend some time with Rob. My guess is that he also spent a lot of time with his friends. It comes with that age.
I spent 6 hours in the ER on Friday the 5th and was sent home with antibiotics for diverticulitis. On Monday I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days because I wasn't getting better. IV antibiotics and tons of IV fluids made the difference. I'm feeling better each day so am encouraged.
This afternoon I'll be driving 2 hrs north of here to the Boundary Waters to help one of my sisters who is building a new house mostly by herself. Like many of the residents up there she'll be living "off the grid" with no electricity. She plans to install solar panels and a rain water collecting system in the Spring. I have no desire to live like that - I want a flushing toilet and a hot shower!
For many years it's been a dream of hers to live like this. She had cancer a few years ago and survived radical surgery and radiation therapy that almost killed her. I admire her strength and determination.
I hope you are able to solve your problems without too much difficulty and maintain peace within yourself. Take care my friend. Hugs.
I was able to spend 3 days with Jim and my 2 girls. It was so good to see them. I caught a virus and spent my last day there in bed. The 500 mile trip home seemed to take so long with stopping to use the rest room at just about every gas station along the way. I'm still sick but doing better.
I hope you had a peaceful Christmas and are enjoying your sailor.
Hugs.
Jim called me twice yesterday. At first to tell me that he and he had left the base and the second call was to tell me how beautiful the Appalachian Mts. are - we both love nature. I called him at & this morning and he was already with his sister at a Perkins in Milwaukee. Jim and his buddies decided to drive to save money. Now after hearing about all of the sailors whose flights were canceled I think they may also have saved time!
Hugs to you
Are you settled in at your new place now? Have your decided to look for a job?
I got a nice phone call from Jim today. His classes are difficult but he's doing well with them. I'll drive to Milwaukee from Minnesota to see him for a few day after Christmas. My kids decided to spend Christmas with their dad this year. I think they're trying to make up for lost time. I'm feeling a bit cheated but I won't tell them that - I don't want to take away from their pleasure of having a good time with their dad.
I hope you are doing better - let me know what's going on. If we don't "talk" soon, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas - enjoy your Sailor and give him lots of hugs!!!!!!!!!!!
