Profile Information

About me:
I am a new Navy mom. My daughter has joined and is leaving for bootcamp on Monday Oct.27th. I am very nervous but I know she will do well and this is the best. I have 1 older son who is not in the Navy and a 10 year old who is going to miss his big sister.
I am here to support or represent my:
Katherine (Katie)
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That she will get a good education that will help her if and when she gets out...She talks about making this a life time career, that will be great ...
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Lori, don't use Nimitz Mom project on your box. It should say Navy for Mom's since most of what is being sent came from mom's that do not have Sailor's on the Nimitz. It wouldn't be fair for us to take the credit because the project wouldn't have been sucessful if it weren't for them.

Good morning Lori, I have that address for you. On the cookies for your daughter
I have heard of pringles cans. But I don't know how many you are sending her.
If it were me I would put them in the papers you make cupcakes in and then
put them in an air tight container. And in the container put them in and make
sure they have no wiggle room. And then you may even take clear tape to
keep it closed and then put is in like a plastic grocery bag and tie it up
tight so they can move around or get knocked out and put them in the
center of you box and eithier put stuff around it you are sending or fill up
the area with paper or tissue paper you can even use tissue paper instead
of the cupcake papers. Ok for the address: Public Affairs Officer
USS Nimitz CVN-68
FPO-AP 96620-2820
Mark on outside of box, Nimitz Mom Christmas Project
If you have a dept you are assigned to put that on ther
and if not put to Dept. where needed.
Let me know if you need anything else be glad to help.

Lori, if you could do 50 simple goody bags with candy and a card attached would be
great. I have my sons shop so I did a little more for them but I am going to have extra
to put in on the ones we lost. At this point I don't think it matters what is in it the point
is putting the effort foward to help make up for what we ask. Write now is a perfect time
to buy candy that is left from Halloween that isn't marked for halloween. And then get those cello bags from the dollar store put a candy can with it and get a couple of boxes
of card at the dollar store. And you should be able to fit in a large flat rate box. I have
shipped in both kinds of boxes so I don't know that it makes any difference the post
office charges the same 11.95. We just need everyone to give some extra to make
sure everyone has something that is what matters.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I don't know what I would do without my Luci. She is
a part of me bigtime she is my handicap assist dog. She has been a little lame in right hip
and been worried about her. With everything that has happen to me in the last year losing
her would be next to impossible. Sounds like you have gotten her good care and praying
for her to be fine. I really don't know who dropped my son ran my laptop battery down
last night and it didn't get charged up till later today. I am sure it will come out.

Lori, glad to here back from you Michael isn't ready to settle down either but he is an
awesome responsible good man. And I do say man because he is so mature for his
age. He has the up most respect for women and has as I said before many female friends.
After all these few years this is his 1st Christmas away from home. Its just nice for them
to have friends to talk with or hang out with and she appears to be out going and Michael
is too. I think they would make nice friends. I am glad to hear from you and am glad
to be here for you anytime to help you thru this experience. I won't say it is at all easy.
But when you see her grow and suceed from this you will feel more at peace with her
being gone. I am getting ready to write Michael and tell him good morning and
happy halloween. Talk to you later

I emailed Michael last night with the info I had on your daughter. I told him I had sent
you a personal email for her name and I would forward it on to him. If nothing else he
is a really good friend to have and is just friends with several of the ladies on the ship.

Lori, I wrote you a comment Michael sure perked up when I told him about your
daughter. I see her name is Jennifer what is her job and division. He cracked me
up and he said I will go look around the ship for a girl but not some random guy.
He is really a good young man with his future figured out and what he wants to do.
He is very responsible and a great personality and is not the normal guy at his age.
I did do something right. Let me know if you want.
