I just got off the phone with Kasey in Charleston. What he said about your son, was he thinks it was some kind of urinary infection/problem. Something about wanting to clear it up before shipping him down there. If you havent heard anything by now, I would say he is probably finishing up a round of antibotics and will be good to go! Somebody last PIR had the same problem and she was shipped out a week later.
Also, looks like the boys will not be rooming together. Kasey was assigned a room with another guy. I got the feeling that they put them with "older" sailors. He has been able to call! email! and gets to go off base. Today because it is Veteran's day there are resteraunts that off free food for military....applebee's, ihop and outback. He is a happy boy!
I hope I didn't worry you about your son. You know I don't know his first name... I am sure everything will be great. I just figured out about the comment wall. Sorry i didn't write last nite.

Yes thank you I'm having a great time here, cold, but my loving family and very busy nephew make it all better! It's been really hard visiting without him here with me, but I just keep reminding myself that we have three weeks to go!!

Hi Lynn, Thanks for the note that you live near Aiken SC and will be driving up to the PIR. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend. I am heartbroken that I cannot be there but my oldest son is getting married on Long Island on November 7th, with his Rehearsal Dinner on November 5th, so I can't possibly be in the Great Lakes on the 6th. My son's wife and mother-in-law will be there for him so I know they will bring me lots of pictures and hopefully the video that the Navy makes of it. You have no idea how upsetting it is for me, but I know he understands.

Lynn, that's wonderful! is he graduating 11/06? My hubby's division still can't seem to get it together so I have only had one phone call on the 1st of October. It's making me crazy but I know he's working hard and just doing what he needs to do to get it over with and move on to A school. Do you know if all the Nukes will be going together? I haven't heard anything about when he'll be leaving or anything, hopefully I'll know in my next letter--I'm visiting my family in NY this week too so I don't think I'll be getting my usual Thursday letter until I get back to Myrtle Beach! Sorry I rambled on so much! Hope to talk to you soon!!

you must be very proud. You are really going to enjoy knowing he is so close. I do not know what our son is doing for sure after PIR. He told me he goes across the street to Warrior Prep then I think if he makes it he goes to INDOC in CA. I do not know how long Warrior Prep is and I wondered if he would come home for Christmas if he is done before INDOC but I do not know if they allow that. It would be nice.

No havent heard of that. I know where Aiken is I have alot of family that lives that way and in N Augusta. Did your son go to Charlotte for the SEAL prep PST's with DOC HOOKS? For some reason I thought you were from NC. Have you received anymore calls or letters?

Lynn- The numbness your son has is called parastesia- it should go away on it's own eventually, very rare for him to have it permanantly.
