- About me:
- I am married, we reside in Dallas, Texas. I have my only son who is a Sailor in the Navy. My grandson Christopher was born on June 13, 2009. He is the love of my life. My son Derek (who is my heart) is in the reserves and stationed in Fort Worth.
I have 2 step sons, one step daughter, 2 stepgranddaughters and 1 stepgrandson.

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was concerned or afraid
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- he had reached the age that I had to let go. He set out to accomplish a goal, and reached it. He carries himself with pride and each time I look at him whether as a civilian or a sailor, he is my son, always and forever. I understand that he will make his own life and I am thankful that he chose the right path and doing the right things.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
