- I am married, we reside in Dallas, Texas. I have my only son who is a Sailor in the Navy. I have 2 step sons and one step daughter. I am going to be a grandma. My sailor is recently married and going to have a baby. He will be going active duty. My grandbaby is due June 2009.

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was concerned or afraid
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- he had reached the age that I had to let go. He set out to accomplish a goal, and reached it. He carries himself with pride and each time I look at him whether as a civilian or a sailor, he is my son, always and forever. I understand that he will make his own life and I am thankful that he chose the right path and doing the right things.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
