Craig texted me tonight - he is flying from CA to Charleston rather than Myrtle Beach, and saving $250!! He will be home Dec. 25 at 8:45pm - which is really fine - as we celebrate Chanukah rather than Christmas, and Chanukah is not really a big ho...

Boot Camp Arrival

Just got home from the beach, and there was a message from my son - said he arrived at boot camp and the "box" of his stuff would be arriving soon!
I responded (or so I thought) to everyone who replied to my very first post - but I don't think I did it correctly and I don't think it got sent! I am so computer illiterate - have never been in a chat room or posted anything before!
Thanks to all who responded - and any tips on how to navigate around page would be great!

Thank you for your note and the flowers! I posted that my son's been invisible this week and It's funny that my thoughts go from the worst to that my son's probably just enjoying his time before A school begins, hanging out with the guys and not thinking to call home and let us know what he's up to! I'll be checking with his recruiter today to see if I can find out at least where he's at. I notice you're in Myrtle Beach, beautiful area! My husband lived for years in SC, for a while he was in Lake City - not too far from your neck of the woods. It's a small world!

Thanks again, have a great day!

Dear Sailor Craig's Mom, thanks for your kind note. Sound like Craig has a wonderful future ahead of him. Jared is also 24 and several years older than most of his class. Maybe our sons will cross paths one day. Jared's decision to join the Navy turned out to be the best decision he ever made. The Navy provides sailors the opportunity to work towards a college degree while at sea through the University of Maryland. He was able to get his associates and plans to continue. I wish Craig all the best and know he will do well. Keep in touch. Janet

My nephews name is George, we call him Gator. He is an MM which means he works on refridgeration and air conditioning on a ship. He was in a motorcycle accident. He collided with a truck head on (not sure of details but they were coming around a bend) Due to severe blood loss they had no choice but to amputate just to stop blood loss and return blood pressure and save his life. They had to do it quickly and close. Today was the first time the surgeons could go in and clean up everything. If all goes well, they will transfer him to Jax (hometown) and continue care here near his family, but if things get complicated they they will stabilize and send him to California. So Prayers are all we can do!! Both for Gage and for the surgeons.

359 is not coed.I am glad to hear Aaron is not grad and go but that can change at the end.Is Craig grad and go?Aaron wants to go into Chicago and see the science museum. His Dad and I would like to go to the Navy pier.Plan to go to the Ramada Inn meet and greet Thursday night.Do you plan to go?I think I might wear pants if I climbing onto the bleachers and will have to check the weather forecast in case a coat is needed.I think Aaron might like the pool; reminding him of his high school swim team days in California.I thought Aaron would want to just chill out and sleep while we visited him but he wants to get out and explore. We will see if that changes when we arrive.Aaron told his Dad that they had just missed getting the Educ flag but have a chance to get it with a few to do retesting.Time is really flying by and before you know it grad will be here. The marriage of the couple after dating 12 years is remarkable and plus having a baby as a wedding present. How wonderful. You are multi talented with working in the healthcare field and performing marriage ceremonies. Here's hoping for more letters from our recruits.
