Waiting on Reclassification Papers....two month and counting

Devyn signed her first contract on October 22, 2012.  The day after signing her contract Devyn was offered an opening in August in the Nuclear program.  We have a verbal approval and have been told that she in "the system" as a Nuke and she has been in touch with an officer in the program, but we still don't have a new contract or ship date.I've talked to a few people that say we need to get her reclassification in writing soon just so they can't "pull a fast one" on her and say that since she…See More

It is all official - Dev is a DEPr

Dev was at MEPS yesterday and completed her enlistment, picked a job - which wasn't what she wanted but apparently it didn't matter because today the recruiter called her and said the "Nuke Guys" want to offer her the first opening they have when it comes up.  Then they called back and said they definitely have a spot for her in August if she is interested!!!!!Talk about a roller coaster ride.  Guess I'm going to have to get used to that too.  Now the countdown begins for her leaving in August…See More

Not the answer we wanted, but it's not a no

MEPS wanted a letter from our Dr stating that Dev didn't have a heart condition and medical transcripts as to why she's on birth control.I gave that to the recruiter almost 4 weeks ago.  He called two weeks ago and said he should hear something soon and he'd call as soon as he did. Haven't heard a word.....Until....today I called the recruiter just to see if they possibly heard anything back from MEPS.  He said "Oh yes we did receive something, however they want more information but we can't…See More

I guess I should get use to waiting

My Daughter went on August 22 to MEPS.  She took her test and scored a 98 over all on the test.  Ran into a snafu with her medical screening.  She is still "in process" but she had to come home and get some things from our family doctor to clear up the snafu.  The Recruiter faxed all of her needed paperwork back to MEPS 3 weeks ago......so we are waiting.  And after reading everything being a Navy Mom is going to mean ALOT of waiting.........See More
