Hi there, The command will get him whatever medical attention the diagosis requires, then they will put him on limited duty and assign him to some desk work. Yes, if he isn't 100% before they deploy, he will not go with them. Typically, he will n...

Hi, Susan! What base is your son stationed at? For the packets, call the base public affairs office or family service center, and request one be mailed to you. They come in very handy when you go there to visit or stay a while. I'm not sure what t...

Nice article by MCC1 Gill. I can't emphasize as a Navy Mom how important this is! My son's unit experienced a difficulty that affected 100% of the command when one lone servicemember posted the "wrong" info on a social networking site. It cost the...

Susan, Hi! It's good to meet you here! The short answer is, yes, the Ombudsman can be helpful to all the Seabees (and Sailors and Marines and USAF personnel) attached to every Seabee command. However.... The Ombudsman program was set up primarily...

There is a neat product called Wash-Eze. It's sheets (alot like dryer sheets) containing detergent AND softener, fragranced or unfragranced. They are available in some stores and online. My Seabee has had problems with the laundry vendors snagging...

Welcome aboard!!

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!

Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.

Profile Information

About me:
I love to garden, do needlework (including knitting, quilting, machine embroidery and crochet) and loiter on the laptop. I'm recovering from spinal reconstruction, so I don't get out much right now. I have many military family members that my husband and I support, including our son and his fiancee', two brothers-in-law, and an adult foster son. I'm a Navy "brat,", Navy wife (of retiree) and retired Navy Family Ombudsman (3 terms, two during combat ops).

Most mornings you'll find me gingerly getting used to being upright for the day, talking to God about what's on a Mom's heart, then off to the coffee pot. After a refill, you can find me out in the garden (rain or shine).

We've lived on several military bases, and can probably answer many general questions about the majority of military bases worldwide. We are a 3-generation NCF (Naval Construction Force/Seabee/Civil Engineer Corps) family, and we also have military members from Army and fleet Navy in the family, as well as USMC, and a niece who is probably going to choose Air Force.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Stay Flexible (Semper Gumby!!!)
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
