My prayers go out to all those at Fort Hood during this tragedy. Being from Wisconsin, it is affected us having, I believe it was 2 or 3 brave soldiers killed or injured that are from here. I can't imagine what those families are going through, but I can only pray that they find peace and understanding (if that is possible). To all of them MY THANKS for what their loved ones gave and are still giving for us and this country. Your daughter is to be commended for her bravery, and please send holiday greetings to her from ICFN Brook's family in Wisconsin. God will keep her safe. Jan

I saw your question about mailings. My daughter Katie is in Sasebo Japan on the USS Essex. I mail all her packages with the APO/FPO Flat rate military boxes you get at the USPS - they discount the size $2 to $11.95 for the military. You can go on=line and have the boxes and forms sent to your home for free in packets of 10. Where is your daughter?

Hi Maria. My name is Susan and we are from Fort Worth. I read in the Navy Reservist forum that your daughter is in NMCB22. I've been looking for other mothers in the same unit! My son is in the NMCB22 and is a diesel mechanic. He is leaving next month for Gulf Port and seems really really sad. I am so new to all of this and didn't know if our kids would ever cross paths? How does your daughter feel about deploying? I think I feel more sad about my son feeling sad than I do about him leaving. Didn't think that was possible. Guess I need a little uplift from another mother! Have a great evening! Susan

Hi Maria. I am from Houston. My daughter is now an active reservist, stationed in Mass. She was in Gulfport before that, and 10 mnths in Okinawa. I have been to the base in Gulfport with her, and it is pretty neat. Best wishes, from Tammie in Houston (Mother of Lizzy Stamper)

My son has been in Iraq for 2 months. I signed up for facebook and i can talk to him when he is on...also, when his room is hooked up we downloaded yahoo messenger so that he can call my home phone from thaat site. He did this when he was in texas...kuwait....and when hooked up...Iraq...AT&T global is the phone card that I bought for now..$27.00 for 550 minutes which translates to around 100 minutes.....Now that my son is there the pressure seems to be gone...I pray for him...he is master at arms...but I know he is where God wants him...He's tired but would do it all again...he has made many good friends and 2 months is already almost up. I believe they come home for 2 weeks somewhere in the middle of their deployment. So my son will be home in August then finally home somewhere in December.Try not to worry...The days leading up to the deployment are much worse than the deployment itself...God Bless you all and especially our children!
