Yes I have attached one to every Priority Mail box I have sent. I just ordered a 10pk of the boxes and forms so I can get everything ready at home before I go to the post office.

Katie asks for DVDs and CDs. She keeps the DVDs in a case and then mails home the DVD covers from time to time. Katie downloads the CDs onto her computer and into her MP3 players and then mails them home as well. I send homebaked items from time t...

TIna-sorry to hear about James' grandma too. Pray for peace of heart and assurance of the resurrection. I'm pretty sure the Navy makes concessions for only immediate family - like Mom, Dad, spouse, brothers, sisters.

My nephew/godson Jonathan is an officer at Ft Hood. He has already done a tour of duty overseas.

Ok I am still trying to learn how I respond to comments. I think I've got it this time. She is going to Yokosuka and will not be on a ship . She is studying meterology.

Marianne. thanks for the info. I will add to my list of sights to check out. Someone said that they traveled on Singapore Airlines and only paid around $500 but they also left from LA, so I am sure it depends on where you are leaving from. I would have to go from either Indy or Chicago, so I am sure that that adds to the price! It is supposed to be another great day (weather wise) in NW Indiana! kathy

Hi Everyone,
I have a daughter about the USS Essex and is in training for Damage Control. Has anyone heard about the earthquake? Marianne, I wonder if your daughter and mine know each other.

i didn't know if it was more likely or not.. i hope not :( i am not sure when our wedding will be.. he wants the weekend before Christmas, but he has to be aproved to be married by the NFAFS.. So i don't want to set a date till I know for sure.. we were supposed to be married Sept 4th.. but we had a rough patch.. things are really great now (THANKS NAVY) and I can't wait but.. yes I send at least 3 letters a day if not more.. morning, afternoon, and before bed. plus i send pictures in really cool collages, and pages with my lipstick kisses, and lyrics, and "real world updates" like when kanye dissed taylor swift on stage and his tennessee titans scores.. I hope i make it to PIR in november.. just one thing that might stop me.. :( baby is due nov 10th.. 4 days after PIR.. I hope he comes early.

I asked Erik about the Navy Ball and he said they were told while they were out at sea that it was $50.00 and then by the time they got back to port the tickets had went up to $80.00. He said if he had a girl friend he would probably go, but I guess he isn't. Hope your daughter has a good time.

Hi Marianne - Thanks for sending me a message. The pictures of your kids when they were little are adorable. How is your daughter doing? Does she like the Navy? Apparently I said something I shouldn't have on Michigan Moms according to Uli, but on the Officer Site and OCS Site, we speak of our sons or daughters ships and where they are sationed. I hardly ever write anything so it was a real slap. I've been married to my husband for 29 years and our son Erik who is the officer (graduated OCS May 09) is 28. After graduating from college and working at a dead end job he decided to apply to OCS and got accepted. When he calls home he is always so excited, so even though I miss him that makes me feel good. Write back and let me know about your daughter. Does she like Japan. A guy who graduated OCS with my son is stationed there also.

Hi there and welcome to Navy for Mom's. Are your children beautiful or what? Is that old picture of your mom and dad? My dad was in the Navy also. My son went to Milford High. Many of his friends went to Lutheran High Westland though. He graduated in 2003. He is just about ready to receive his Naval Aviator Wings, sometime in November at NAS Kingsville TX. I can't wait!! Congrats on your daughter! You must be so proud of her =)
