I live in Cherry Hill, NJ. I am a registered dental hygienist. I am married for the second time. My two sons are in the Navy. My oldest, Jake is 23 and is stationed on the USS Carl Vinson. My youngest, Tim is 20 and stationed on the USS Ronald Reagan.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That no matter what my two children choose to do for the rest of their life, this experience will probably be one of their most memorable and admirable.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
Thanks, Marianne! Great slide show and how exciting. My husband was on the Chancellorsville with my son after his first deployment. So nice to see the trip from your point of view as all our shots are looking the other way. Two sons in the Navy - God bless! My daughter is NROTC nursing corps so I guess I'll be joining the "more than one" group in two years.
Marianne,
I would love to go when they leave but my work situation just won't allow it. My main assistant left 2 months ago and I am not allowed to replace her. So, I am doing my job and her's! I will have 2 weeks vacation to carry over to next year, but don't know when I'll be able to use that!
Chris said he should be getting 8 days for Xmas, but I don't know the dates yet. He said the ship is stopping at Mayport but he does not know for how long. I hope so because the flight from Jacksonville to Ft Lauderdale is fast and cheap! I really do want to fly to SD when they arrive, so that will be my goal. Hopefully we'll meet there!!!
Marianne,
That's fantastic!!! Thank your son for keeping an eye out for him!!!
Chris told me that they might get some time off at Xmas for leave...I hope I can see him before they begin the trip. I know when they make it to SD, my husband and I will fly out for a visit!!! Wow, what an adventure!
Why don't you see who would be available the 22nd. If that doesn't work they do the 15th. Where we will be meeting and do you have a time in mind.
I go to church on Sunday and then deliver communion to a nursing home in the morning.
Marianne - I just found out that Tim is coming home on the 13th. He will only be home a week. If he happens to be out w/ his friends on the 15th I will pop over. If not I'm going to have to pass. I haven't seen my boy in 3 months and I can't give up any of our time together. I am looking forward to meeting you!
Hi Marianne, The get together sounds great. Unfortunately Im flying to Texas on the 15th so I won't be able to make it. I definitely understand that you don't want to get to close the holidays. Will you be at Homecoming?
