Hi ladies! I'm new to this group. My son is stationed in VB. He and his new wife are just trying to get settled in. I miss him very much. He left for bc in June and now that bc is out he is so busy settling into their new life. They have been apt....
Married to a wonderful husband and father, Mother of 3 awesome boys, with my oldest son becoming a Sailor this year. I am a nurse, I love the outdoors and living in the country, and I love my animals (2 dogs, a finicky cat, and 2 adorable squirrels).
I am here to support or represent my:

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To let him grow up and make his own mistakes, because he can't learn from mine. He is a beautiful person, he will take the right path, and he is already on his way.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made
Melissa, scratch my last message. I was getting the Oceana group mixed up with the Virginia Beach group. My bad. My post was actually to the Oceana group and is still there. But I was reading your "Virginia Beach" group page. Sheesh, I need to get a better handle on keeping track of my groups. LOL.
Hi Melissa,
I answered a question on the Oceana group (someone had asked if anyone had gone to the airshow and how was it) and today I notice that both the original poster's question (don't remember who it was) and my answer are gone. I was just wondering if they were deleted by you and why? Did I respond with too much detail? I didn't think I said anything that would be a problem, but if I did can you please let me know what so that I don't make the same mistake again.
Thanks.
Hey Melissa, how have you been and how is your son liking the Navy? Bruce is doing ok, he likes his job, but say's he still misses being here at home. I can't believe it has been a year since he left for BC! he has been in Virginia almost a year (Sept). well talk to you later!
Melissa,
I couldn't remember if I sent you the address for the cookbooks. Please let me know how many you will be getting so that I can make sure that I keep them aside for you. They are 18.00 each and you will need to make the money order or cashiers check out to Navy Mom Cookbooks and mail to Po Box 97123 Pearl Ms 39208.
Hello Melissa,
I saw you live in Cottondale, I live in Fort Walton Beach. We pass through Cottondale when we go to Columbus Ga., we have a lot of family and friends there. What does Scotty do in the Navy?
Hi Melissa,
Just wanted to drop you a note to see how Scotty was doing in Virginia. I don't ever see you on the AZ moms website, so wanted to make sure all was well. Eric is fine--taking his E4 test next month and am hoping he passes that. He wants to buy another motorcycle--he can't seem to just save right now. Never could though.HA Let me know how Scotty is doing, what squadron he is with and any good stuff. Hope all is well.
Jody
How does Scotty like that crazy VA traffic? I'm glad I don't have to drive in it very much. When we were down there one time our power steering went out but only on left turns. Wouldn't have been so bad but in Norfolk you have to make U-turns all the time to get anywhere. What a pain.
He's been there since he got out of A school, which was in February (I think) of 07. He was in my son's class and they have remained friends ever since. We met him when we went down to Norfolk after the Ike got back from deployment back in May of 07. Kate and Jimmy have been doing the my space thing and then he came up here to take her to the prom last year. Since then he has been here about 4 other times and she also went to stay with him and his family at their beach house in Ocean City this summer. Then last October she drove to Pa. to spend the weekend with his family at a mountain cabin they have. Sounds rich doesn't he. LOL but he says that he has a really big family and they have owned them together for a long time.
Is the GPS helping Scotty? We have one but I can never figure it out. Ha Ha - I am very low tech - just give me a map!
Sorry this is so long - I can get carried away sometimes.
Hi Melissa,
It is my daughter's boyfriend that is in Oceana. He is an AZ with the Golden Lions squadron (I forget the number). I'll ask him if he is near your son. My son, Rob, is an AZ on the Eisenhower.
