About me:
I am a wife and mother of 3 wonderful children. My husband and I are blessed that each one of our children has excelled in their own interests. Our oldest son works for the media in New York City, Our second son is a police officer, locally and our daughter is an OS3 in the US Navy out of San Diego on her first deployment. What an exciting time for us all.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To be there for my daughter and encourage her to meet her goal.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

I read the story about your daughter's choices during high school and her junior year. My daughter has chosen just recently and is going into her senior year. I will miss her because after she graduates and leaves, I don't know when I will get to see her again!? It is hard when I am close to my daughters. I am getting ready to feel the nearly empty nest syndrome. I will get through somehow.

Thanks for the comment, I enjoyed meeting you also-I knew you'd be coming off the ship based on your entries-I know you had a great time. We loved San Diego and spending some time with our son. Maybe I'll get up the nerve to go on one of those TC's-am afraid of seasickness! We'll see...

Melissa, I am SO glad that you were able to go on the TC, and spend "Navy Life" time with Carlye! I saw where the Preble and Kidd made their way back in to port in San Diego and immediately thought of you and Carlye. I am sure you will have a wonderful visit with Carlye during post-deployment leave. Please give her a big Navy Mom welcome home hug from me.
