HI Kyle's mom - I actually did the same thing - I sent a "questionnaire" for my son to answer questions and mail back. Not too much thought to it. My son isn't a "writer". I look forward to his phone calls though. :) I came to this Forum because I...

Not anyone in this discussion with that name. If you accept my request as a friend we can send messages privately (last names should not be posted on N4M sites).

No phone call??

Hello to all. I am a new navy mom and have been relying on this site and all those who have gone before me for some time, Thank You! My son left Wednesday-I did not get "the call"? His flight arrived in Chicago @ 5:20? Is that common? I feel in my heart he is okay. Grandparents are driving me crazy to call his recruiter to "check" on him? We are a VERY tight family and unfortunately have never let him out of our site! I need advice? Surely if something were wrong, they would call?

You are very welcome! When my son had been there for a few weeks, someone saw his group and told us and I also cried!!!! So when we got there, as soon as I saw other groups, I made a note of their divison number so I could let you know. His PIR will be here before you know it and it is something you will never forget. Make sure to bring TONS of tissues!!! The feeling of being able to finally hug them is the best feeling ever. Good luck.

Missy, I just noticed that you are in WV. My husband & his family are from Vienna, WV (outside Parkersburg). They will all be at the PIR. My husband & I are heading to WVU (we live in AZ) Oct. 23 for homecoming weekend, his alma mater.
What job is your son signed up for with the Navy?

That is too funny. I never thought of it that way. Don't worry about the photos. There is plenty of time for that. I'm doing great and I hope you are as well. Talk to you soon.
