- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was proud, Encouraged him/her
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- This was the best decision he/she could have made
I kissed and I hugged him and watched him walk away
He graduated boot camp and was now on his way
He stood tall and so proud as he walked and he waved
I couldn't be happier of the road he has paved
The weekend was short how I wished for more days
Just in awe of his presence and his new Navy ways
His focus and maturity came quick in nine weeks
I know he will find whatever he seeks
I am back to waiting for calls and the mail
Never knowing when the time comes for him to set sail
I will continue to wait for that next hug and next kiss
Not doing it daily is what I will miss
My son is a man now I need to let go
I don't know if I can I just love him so
I am proud of my son and his accomplishments to date
As hard as it is I will continue to wait
I will wait for the hugs and wait for the kiss
I will continue to pray and continue to miss
Please take care of him God on his journey so new
It makes it easier for me knowing he has you

Marianne T said… - HeyMissy! Just a note on the night before reception for the Ronald Reagan. I am going to be wearing a name tag with my name and N4M's on it. This way we can get together as a group that night. I am bringing extra name tags so that we will all have one and will know who is who! Hi Missy, Here are the pictures from October from the RR. Did you get the info for Homecoming. You can get on base the day the ship comes home. We will be getting more info at the night before get together. Are you going, Did your son tell you the date? If so, it will be in at 9am on that date.

Christopher's job is an important one. First one on and last one off must be a little hard to take at times, specially when he has been away for quite a while. Has he been able to send you any pictures on board? I have seen quite a few shows and have learned quite a bit about aircraft carriers. They are so protected and it is really amazing how many people serve on one. I'll bet you can't wait to see him! It's funny how important dates, you don't want to forget, are right around your birthday. My son went into the Navy just a day after my husband's birthday and just 5 days before mine so that will be easy to remember also. I would love to see pictures of some of the places some of the sailors have been. I have seen so little so this would be my way of seeing the world. I will check out your page and look at the pictures. More later.

I'll bet you are really anxious to see Christopher. Has he been home at all since he graduated from boot camp? It would be hard if he hasn't. I am sure he will have lots of stories to tell. If he has some pictures, I would love to see them.
My son Shawn is in submarine classes and training in Groton, CT. He is going for submarine electronics. I don't really know exactly what that entails. He has finished his first classes and is currently waiting for the second set of classes to begin. He has put in for leave from December 27 to January 4. Last I heard he hadn't been told if it had been approved yet.

This is from another Minnesota Navy mom. How long has Christopher been in the Navy and where is he stationed? I am just learning some of the things that some of the sailors are going through. I look forward to learning more
