Ship 11 Division 334 is in my thoughts...

i'm not sure chandra about the wait but 2.5 weeks seems excessive. they may close it for a week and that's why they don't have PIR's every week but two weeks seems excessive as they ususally don't go two weeks without a PIR. good luck to your guy,...

Hello, I'm alive, just floating around listening to you guys. ^^ I have been sick on the 25th (that seems alittle too coincidental...) and haven't been on the computer. But yesterday I felt better, so I was able to have homemade pizza for dinner (...

Beky, hell week is most likely gas chamber, fire fighting and the last PFA test they all have to take, then right after it is Battle Stations. But don't take my word for it, I'm just making an asumption.

Like Lauren said, Tim called me and told me that he didn't pass his PFA...it sucks, I was sleeping and when he called I was excited, but when he said "Babe, I didn't pass" I was in shock... He said he lost weight, he's 170-something and that he wo...

About me:
I'm 18 years old and a college student at Glendale Community College North in Arizona. My boyfriend who is in the navy, is going to boot camp August 3, 2009.
He's already left and I've been doing my best to stay strong and supportive for him. But before I know it, I'll see him again and be in his arms, like he never left for boot camp.

Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To hold on to the moments you have with the one you love, because they'll become rarer to have once he/she's gone. Don't try to count the days-they just make everything slower, so keep busy and stay possitive and support your loved one.
Also, send letters. Lots of letters. Tell them how you are and cheer them on if they look like they're about to give up. Encourage them to do their best!

It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Battlestation rumor

I heard a rumor from someone that Battlestations will be shut down for 2.5 weeks for cleaning, and that while that is going on, the recruits will be stuck there until the cleaning is done. Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not, because I'm wondering if this a tactic to scare the recruits into working harder and passing their tests. I'm worried that my recruit will be stuck there while they're cleaning the ship, if the rumor is true. My recurit has been in Ship 06 Division 2347 for awhil… Continue

Surprise Letter!

I got a letter today. I waited for the mail man (I really am stalking the mail man lol) to come and he came with a package and a letter to me! I was surprised because usually I get mail from him on Wednesday. I was really happy about the letter, but I feel alittle bad because his mom didn't get one. I could tell she looked dissappionted, but I hope she'll get one from him on Wednesday. In his letter he said that his Division was cleaning for a really important person. He was a Admiral or somethi… Continue

3 letters- I am in heaven!

I got 3 letters on thursday this week. I've been busy wrting him back and its been an emotional trip for me. I didn't think it would be possible to cry just from reading letters, but I guess it is. I've cried alot since I've gotten his letters, the tears I cry are happy ones, but most of them were sad or relieved. He manages to say exactly what I need to hear even when I can't see him.

He said in one of his letters that he has Bronchitis, and he told me not to worry. Thats impossible! I can't st… Continue

2 letters in one day!

Yay! I knew today was letter day, but I didn't think I'd get 2 letters! I'm so happy right now, when I came inside with the mail and my stuff, I screamed and jumped around like a crazy person! I already opened one and I cried when I read what was written by him. The other letter I can't open yet, because it has a "Don't open till 06 Sept. 09" were the seal is. That would be the day of our aniversery...I'm alittle frustrated, but I'm excited at the same time!

The letter I could open was only one… Continue

Unexpected!!!

I just got a letter from Tim! It was 3 pages long! I'm so happy! His group earned 30 minuts to write a letter, and he got to write to his mom, but it was only to fill out a survy she sent and a sentence explaining that he was sorry he couldn't write because he was given 20 minutes (I think maybe he spent most of his time writing to me!!) I felt so bad that I got more than she did, but she said that was ok, she got something from him. Plus I shared some of my letter with him. I can't stop gigglin… Continue

Chandra,
Tell your bf that he is in good company. My son missed his first Officer Candidate School RLF by one frigging point - those damn threads on the inside seam of his pants (near his shoes). Many were rolled back. When he rolled back, he had to go through all that stuff for another month. He was pissed. I personally thought he would be rolled back continuously for the rest of his life. Luckily, some of the prior enlisted guys who were having problems with math offered to iron his shirts and pants, shine his shoes, get rid of those threads in exchange for tutoring in math. Great team work. It worked out. They all passed the next go around.
I have been busy with work and stuff. Met 8 other Navy parents last week. It was great to put a face with a name. I am cleaning up, polishing the silver, making everything spic and span ready for the next meet and greet - at MY house! I must be nuts.
