- About me:
- I'm currently living in Norfolk, VA, with my husband Andrew. Andrew is in the Navy, and has been for about a year now. He's been underway three times since we've been married. [September 25.2009.] and at first it was really rough being away from him. I thought the time when he came back wouldn't be soon enough, and that this whole Navy wife thing was gonna suck. It really doesn't suck though, it's very rewarding. Andrew deploys for 7 months starting in January. I'm a little scared about that. I know I can make it though. :) If we can make it through deployment, then we can make it through anything.

- When I heard “Navy,” I:
- Was proud and encouraged it
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- You just have to be patient. There are gonna be times when your sailor is gone for weeks or months at a time, but that doesn't mean giving up, and it doesn't mean they love you any less. If you're a sailors wife, then you didn't marry that sailor, you married the Navy. It used to be so rough for me to cope with the fact that my husband might be gone for a long time, but I know it's because of his job, and he's serving our country, and that makes him a hero. Try and be supportive the best way you can, even if it's hard. Someday, they'll be back home for you.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
