My son is out on his first cruise on the Boise. He is assigned to the New Mexico but because it is still in manufacturing in Virginia, he is getting his quals on the Boise. He has been out of touch for almost eight weeks now and this is the most difficult part since not hearing much through boot camp. In answer to Katrina's questions about calls from Groton, we were able to take Brad his phone at PIR and I talked to him just as often as his studies permitted. Since he has been assigned to his boat, we had to get him a cell that does not take pictures because of the security issues.

My son just graduated 11/21 from GL. He is suppose to go conneticut, or georgia, he was not sure which one first. We have not heard anything since we left him on sunday. He believed he would ship out today 11/26, how can I find out where he is? If he can not call us from GL, will he be able to call when he gets to his school?

Will you please help me? My son's job or rating was changed from QM to undesignated. he was in the dep program for over a year and his recruiter scared him so much about the responsibilities of QM and suggested he choose the undesignated rank. He is now in boot camp. His first day was Oct 28 is there any way to change this now?

Can you tell me the pros and cons of Engineering Laboratory Technician school after nuke prototype for MM's. My son is soon going to prototype. He has been at the top of his classes. I also don't know if that would qualify him for the school.

Hi, My sailor will be finishing up A school for Corpsmen on Oct 17 his next orders are Camp Pendleton, what will he be doing there? more training? or in the hospital??

We just got a short letter from our bc sailor saying he volunteered for sub duty. We trust he is still going to nuke school, too. Just waiting and wondering till we see him at PIR (yeh, soon!)
