Hi Nancy, Yes my son's address is an FPO box so I will have to try the flat rate next time. I do tend to send alot over to him so I will have to see if it will work. Thanks again.

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the info on sending packages to Japan. I sent out my Christmas box to my Son and his family before I read your comment. It cost me over $35 to send it. My husband said we need to just give them money...and I always say its for Christmas and they need something from home to open. I will have to tell him about the rate. Thanks again.
TC/God Bless you and yours

Hi Nancy, nice to meet another Navy Mom :) Yes, living in Germany was wonderful. We knew enough Germany to be able to use the money, and order off the menus and know what we were ordering, and to drive around. Very friendly country. I know what you mean when we try to speak another language and we aren't saying it correctly. I had a few odd looks myself! My oldest daughter also has a 20 month old daughter that is part Korean and Japanese. Her name is Yukari. Her maternal grandmother is from Japan. I figure I have about 18 months to pick up some books and cd's. By that time Danielle should be in Japan a year and be able to show us around. My oldest also has some kid videos in Japanese -something like Sesame Street so that may even help. I'll look into the books you mentioned, I think a cd would be helpful.

Nancy;
How exciting for you that they may visit for Mardi Gras. I'm sure you miss them. Especially your grandchild. I love having mine around. Up until a month ago my husband and I traveled with his work and being away from all the kids was the toughest part. We are now home permanently so I'm thrilled! I also have a daughter at SELU in her second year. And thanks for the offer to answer any questions. AJ is actually my stepson although neither he or I see it that way. We're so close and I miss him so much. Well, take care and thanks much

HI;
Our son, AJ, graduated October 31st and is still in Great Lakes Ill. in school. It's good to hear from someone local. We don't know where our son goes from here. We are waiting to hear. How old is your son and when will he be back this way. Good luck and thank you for writing me.

Do you think Scott will be career Navy? I wonder where they will call home when it is time for him to settle, US or Japan? That would be the hardest part for me because even though they are happy if they were to be in Japan, it would be just like it is now. I know you miss them but Skype sounds fantastic. I sent Josh an email and asked him what he thought but have not received an answer yet. I know it is not unusual for him not to reply to me, I am just so anxious to find out when he is coming home and he has not given me dates yet. grrr!

Just wanted to let you know I did get your messasge I just haven't been home much this week. This week and last week have been really crazy we are closing on a house on the17th so I've had to get all the arrangements for utilities and ofcoarse they are all different companies than what we have now and everyone of them are a different company plus I've been going to work for a couuple of hours each morning and then they send me out to the horse sale in Lexington and I don't get home till 6-7 pm and by the time I eat and feed all the critters here at the house I am pooped and fall asleep. I'm hoping that things will slow down a little next week even with the move cuz we are doing it slow we have till the end of the month. I know at times it is crazy here. Which is why Daniel joined the Navy
