Check with your local Boy Scouts of America
Advise your son to get a Chief or older man to help him...the military is ripped off here, esp in these hard times. Then, they fall in love with a car and get their heads ripped off. Since he is shopping for a new car he can get a really good idea...
My son is home! The Reagan has arrived here in San Diego. I will still stop in to listen! I want to thank everyone for the handholding while DS is deployed...I will be paying it forward.

I wish I could answer that for you, my son told me he tried to send the file they gave him for the families and it was too big for his account to handle...just got the other flyer about directions to the pier.
When you send care packages make sure you don't send things that melt.

My brother went on a TC on a frigate 16 years ago with my son's Dad, my ex. He was still talking about how cool it was until last year when he went on the TC with my son on the mighty USS Ronald Reagan! Peace through strength! My brother celebrate...
It is a wonderful thing when they come home and try to teach US how to fold laundry! LOL
Also, I have some of his old voice mails saved on my cell phone...so I hear his voice all the time! ;)
I am so proud of all of you Moms, it is not easy and of course we worry and cope with the sudden loneliness...but, now I worry about your 'kids' too! ;p

- As a navy Mom and a Navy ex-wife I have learned that it takes maturity, self-confidence and independence to handle the job, the demands of the military lifestyle, rules and regs, separations from family, friends and all things familiar.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Marianne T said… - So I have heard about the medical stuff. Tim did have hernia surgery last deployment on the RR and they did give him good healing time and took very good care of him so I hope this situation will be the same.

- Wow! My son probably was assigned to the RR around the same time! I think he will be on the RR 2 years as of 2/10! Hard to believe. Time is flying! If you read my comment on the RR site today, he had an accident a few days ago and I am still awaiting word as to what is going to happen with him.

- Thanks for the advice. I am checking tripadvisor. But after you read so many they all run together, lol. How is the traffic in the area? I am wondering if it just won't be better to stay where we have stayed in the past. It is on Coronado and close to base. I am just worried about being in traffic the morning of homecoming. Last year we had no problem getting there and getting in. Will you be at homecoming?

- Thank you! I am looking at Old Town Inn on Pacific Hwy. Do you know anything about the area? Last year we stayed on Coronado at Coronado Inn. It wasn't bad and was close but parking was hard to come by at times. Thanks again!

- Hey NavyDCmomma! thanks for the friend request! How long has your son been on the RR? I have an ABE on the RR and he has been assigned to the RR for about 1 1/2 yrs now. This is his second deployment with them. Welcome to N4M's and to the RR group!
