welcome aboard!

We are so glad you are here. what is it you are thinking of doing for the navy?

You referred to "getting custody back" do you not have custody now? If you have custoday now it would not be a problem for you to have your child with you, but you did read the disclaimer that said that you must NOT miss work or ask to NOT go on deployment due to child care issues as this will get you a discharge.

When you go on deployment or just " out to sea" it can be a month to 6 + months at a time. I know that my experience has been with my sons, and my oldest is on a sub they go out for a week to a month every couple of months.

I am happy that you have decided to think this through, the navy is a great life but you need to understand everything before you sign.

Please let me know if you have questions and I will try to help you out
