Hi Kevin,
Our son graduated from bootcamp this past Friday, 05/29. He went in under AV and his paperwork stated he would go to Pensacola to A school. Two weeks prior to PIR, he found out he would be staying in Great Lakes for A school and has been assigned as an ATO. His friend has been assigned as an ATI and will be going to Pensacola. Can you tell us what an ATO entails and will this be a good thing for him? How does the Navy determine where to place them for A school?

Hi Kevin.
I just started to explore this website. My son is at p cola in ATI school. You really know your stuff, may I add you as a friend and ask you questions from time to time? I only have one kid but my father and three of my uncles survived PearL Harbor and my grandmother was given a medal by Pres. Roosevelt and Christened a ship . The story is on the Nat'l Geographic website Pearl Harbor page. Out of my 28 cousins , mine is the only child to join the Navy. he is my only and their is some angst on my part but this site is so reassuring.

Being a scout is lots different than GM! I agree, going IA as a scout doesn't sound so good. Being a GM and going IA is a lot different.
