Dear Carolyn,
How are you holding up? Sounds like your son is in the early part of Boot Camp. What week is he into?

I'm guessing around the third week, since he called you.
The first few weeks are stressful. It's all new, and the recrutis are most likely out of shape. There's physcial excercizes, plus classroom work as well.

Don't panic, if he sounds upset, it will get better as time goes on. Your son isn't in the rountine of Boot Camp yet and still homesick. Once he gets into the rountine of it, he'll like Boot Camp. They all do, beleive it or not.

If he is still struggling in passing tests, the Navy could place him in another Division that graduates on a later date. It's not a big deal That almost happened to my daughter. It'll be a benefit for him, if that happens. He will let you know, if that happens. The Navy does want him to graduate!!

Please stay in touch with other Navy moms. I'm always a around. Together we'll help you through Boot Camp.....we haven't lost a mom yet! HAHA!

Oh by the way, in case you haven't gotten your first letter yet, it could be sad. Don't panic, the letters do get more uplifting.

Please don't hestiate to write.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
