Profile Information

About me:
I am a very proud Mom to Lyndsey and her older sister Jennifer. Lyndsey has now been in the Navy for over 2 yrs. She currently serving her first deployment. This has been SUCH a life changing experience for me. You learn to accept things that you can not change and be so Thankful for the small blessing of a phone call or email that you recieve and make the best of what you get. They are now more grown up than when they leave home. Learn to trust their choices and smile with approval even when having a phone call, they know us better than we think they do.....they are a part of us.

Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Always be ready for change, always pay extra in case you have to change the date on travel tickets.
Trust your Sailors choices. They are the one that elected to travel this path in life and they know what is best for them. Listen, listen and listen more. They often just need to be heard with out an opinion from us
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Pam! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you. I have a new job after all the chaos over the last couple of months with the sale of the company I was working for. Unfortunately, it keeps me busy about 14 or 15 hours a day, so the last thing I feel like doing at night is getting back on the computer. In fact, it takes every ounce of strength I have to pet the dog, kiss the honey and eat dinner before I fall asleep. I am hoping that things are starting to settle down a bit and normalize some. We'll see. I also was at a wedding this past weekend in Podunk, Texas - also known as Llano. It was such a beautiful weekend, but again - more time away from making plans for homecoming and trying to coordinate with everyone. I am about to the point where I have to tell everyone - my boss, my friends, my family - to leave me alone and let me get my trip planned and then I will make it up to them!!! I also now have a wedding the weekend before I am supposed to leave for Norfolk!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm losing it around here!!!

I am probably going to fly. I won't be able to take off that many extra days to schedule driving time - would love to, but it just seems like a waste of days off that I could spend with Danny! If I can find the darn thing again, I had gotten something off the internet that showed hotels that are right around where Danny's apartment is, which is close to the base, which means close to everything. If your son gives you some good info though, by all means I would love to hear what he has to say! TTYL dear - I am supposed to be working!!! :-)
