Ditto! I couldn't have said it better than Jeannie did. Both my sons left the same year for the Navy and after 6 years I still don't like it but I've moved forward with my life just like they have. They are both married and each have a son now, on...

Hi Pat! I agree with what Karen and Jeannie have said. My daughter is in the NROTC at Texas A&M Galveston, so she is over 1000 miles away from home (Indianapolis). Last January was the first time she had been away from home on her birthday (her 19...

Dear Pat, I agree with Jeannie's answer. I had problems adjusting to my sailor being gone, but we write, e-mail and webcam as much as we can. Getting involved in a local service organization helps me, and I try to focus on this new phase of my lif...

Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
My daughter can do anything she sets her mind to, and that distance does not effect the love we share.

Through this Navy experience, I now believe:

Pat,
It's me again. Your list of songs is great. I love "My Girl" and it is a song I always have sung to my little girl from the day she was born. I just change the words to be "My Summer and instead of the word man I use the word Mom. Here is my email address : MRNMM13B@AOL.COM , please write to me and I will give you my home phone number and home address. I would love to hear from you. Your friend, Beth

Dear Pat,
My husband and I were looking at the map to see where you live. Guess what? We pass you every time we go to Cave Run Lake. My husband's family has campers that they keep down there all year at Moorhead at a private campground. We are planning to go back again some time in the month of July and also in the month of September. We should see if we can get together. Tell me what you think. Your friend, Beth

Hey, as far as all the emails - the only thing I can think of is go to each of them and find out where they are coming from. I do like knowing when new discussions are started - and follow them for a short while - but I agree - I get way too many in my email - just need to take some time and "clean house"
