Profile Information

About me:
I was in the Navy and married a Navy guy. Now I am the proud Mom of a Navy Sailor. I have 3 other children, Curtis, Jillian and James as well as 4 "step children".
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
They call or write when they can. Not necessarily when we want them to. Oh yeah, don't be afraid to ask what all those anachornyms mean. Unless you ask, you will only understand half of what they say.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

If you would like to help the Knit for the Navy group with shiping costs, please consider donating through our Paypal account. The link to it is...... https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=2502160 Thanks! :)

Here is another way you can help Knit for the Navy send homemade afghans to our sailors, go to : www.visitourmall.com/knitforthenavy It is a website where you can shop online at stores that you already shop at. Whatever you purchase, Knit for the Navy get a small percentage.

Words could never express how proud I am of my son. He has become an awesome man. I love you Paul.

Blue Candle...

I think this is a great idea. Of course, I had to make it more of my own. I am lighting a blue candle at sundown on Dec. 21st (the first night of Hanukkah) for all the sailors who can 't be at home with their families for the holidays. I will continue to burn a blue candle in our house thru the rest of the month of Dec so that all sailors of all religons are remembered. This will be the first year of a new tradition in our home. What about you? Will you join us in sending thoughts and prayers to… Continue

Do it...

Ok I'll start my blogs out with a bang. You all need to go to the website below and check it out. It is a site promoting a bill of rights for veterans. I think after you read the petition you will agree and sign it. Check it out...

I'm sending this message to you off the list because I don't want to start any discussion that would complicate things. I have a friend who's son is a SEAL and we were talking about Knit for the Navy. She said that her son would never get an afgan because he isn't on a ship. If anything he'll be in the Sand in the near future. So I checked with another friend who said that the guys in the Stan can have scarfs as long as they are in desert camo or sand colors. That in the winter it gets real cold over there and they appreciate the scarfs. So do you think we could do something for them in the fall? Well, I just thought I'd throw it out there.
