Morning!!
What a beautiful name! I can't wait to see you! I will be in SD in October for the commissioning of the ship. I can go down anytime before that too. Just let me know. Always willing to make the drive to SD. I will also be down there in September. When the ship comes back....I will be on the docks if they let me! I will be the crazy lady who will find her kid before anyone else!

Hopfefully Justin can find his way home for the birth of the baby! The Navy should let him come home if they are close to port???? I guess we are going to find out! Tell her I said hi!!!

Hi!
I am so happy for you!!! I have not forgot you ! I have been computerless....could not get on at work! What a life! Busy and now I am ready to move on!!

I hope all is well with Krista and Justin! Baby and all! Let me know when you are coming and I will make sure that I am around to meet up with you guys! I will be in SD in September sometime and again in October. I could always go down and visit with Krista while Justin is gone! I can take her on a short walk as long as Bryan is not around! You know how he loves to walk!

How is the rest of the family? Hope all is well! Talk to you soon!

PS, my son said he chose Japan so he could open up a slot for a married guy to stay in San Diego and be with his wife, and Patrick said he was single, so it was easier for him to go to Japan than someone who just got married. What a guy.

Peggy, SERIOUSLY, if you don't want to wait till August, you could go in July when I go. Do you stay with Krista in San Diego where she lives? I know she must be lonely.

Yes, Peggy, my son is a QM (quartermaster) on the Gridley. He is also one of the ship's search and rescue swimmers (SARS). It will be good to have some input from other families of Gridley sailors this deployment I didn't know any others during their last deployment and I rarely heard from my son. I spent hours on other Navy news sites. This time promises to be not so lonely.

Peggy, this is a small world, isn't it? Kind of like Kevin Bacon's 6 degrees of separation--we can find multiple links Karen Glenwood Springs, CO

OS is Operations Specialist. As far as the search....I just used the search bar at the top right of the N4Moms site and found various threads, groups, and people that I thought might be associated with SG7 and/or the Gridley.

Hi Peggy. I haven't really been on here much to know how this all works here but I searched Gridley and found some friends! My son is an OS and this is his 2nd deployment. I know it must have been horribly hard for your DIL Krista. I'll be thinking about you both.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To be strong and supportive to our recruits in boot camp. Use this site to help each other through the rough times as well as sharing the "great times". As mom's and wive's it is our nature to worry, but everything will be alright!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
