Profile Information

About me:
I'm finding myself in a whole new world right now. Everything about my life is changing. In the last two years I have learned to be single again. My daughter made me a grandmother and now my son is making me a Navy mom...
The current is swift and the waters are deep...I just ordered a tee-shirt that says, "ship happens" featuring a large Navy vessel.
I am here to support or represent my:
Jon
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
That my son is a grown man and is completely in control of his life and makes wise decisions for his life and future. I have read a lot of information about the Navy and feel very confident that this is a very good, if not the best decision that he could have made for himself. The very most important thing that I have learned is that I will never be finished learning.`
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Hi Penny, Hope you are doing well! Is your son adjusting to A school? Wes seems to be doing great! I just wanted to let you know that we put a chat box feature on the PIR 3/20 site. It is alot easier than having to refresh all the time. Come join us sometime!! Take Care, Patty

He said things are getting easier and that he's passed everything thus far!!! YAY!! Things are getting easier for me here at home as well. Still miss him like crazy but that probably isn't going to ever change!! lol He told me I will be getting the grad packet any day now!! One more thing down, I also booked mt room at the Navy Lodge a few days ago. So I'm getting things in order for PIR!! Only 28 more days!! Take Care

Hi Penny,
Just checking to see how things are going with you. Wondering if you got a call from Jon this weekend. I did not get one from Rachael, I was hoping I would get one yesterday since that is when she called the week before. How funny is it that our kids rode the bus from Lansing to Great Lakes to gether and are in the same division. I wonder if she knows who your son is. Were you in Lansing when they left from MEPS, If you were, you probably weren't too far from me and my family. Have a great night.

Keep in touch.

The letter I received was my first. So I was really excited. I asked Amber if she was keeping band aides on them. I hope Jon's sore throat goes away. Amber did not sound sick last week and she did not mention it in her letter. So she must be fine. I bet it is hard to keep a low profile when you have a job like that. Amber has not mentioned what her job is. If she calls tomorrow I will ask her. This week is suppose to be the hardest for them, then less yelling. I called Residence Inn today directly to get a better deal but their computers were down and she said for me to call Monday. I have read to try and get a place that has a sofa because our new sailors just want to rest. That is Mary that is taking a lot of family. I am just getting one room. We have two other daughters that are in their first year of college. If they don't have tests that Thursday or Friday they are coming too. They are not twins just close in age LOL. I know that Amber will have the weekend off if she does not have watch. She is staying in GL for hospital corpsmen. I just think it depends where they go for A school and when they have to leave.

Hi Penny just checking in to see how you were doing. Received a letter from Amber yesterday. She said she is doing good. She has blisters on her feet, she said that is not fun. Amber did mention they are still getting in trouble because some the girls don't know how to keep their mouths shut. She is not too happy with that. Hope we get phone calls tomorrow.

HI Penny. Was just checking to see if you have heard from Jon lately? I hope you are doing well and that he is as well. I just received 4 letters from Nathan today!!! He's doing well he had 4 cavities filled and a wisdom tooth pulled on this past Monday:( But said things were going good, He said that he has past all his test thus far!! YAY! And that he wouldnt be able to call until 2 weeks before PIR! That kinda sucks, but i keep telling my self ive made it this far only a few more weeks to go. Well hope all is well. Take care!
