trevorsmom said… I completely undertsand not being able to go in his room. We do what need to in order to help the time pass. We just have a guest room here that used to be his room before he moved out. If it was my baby, I would probably avoid his room too. I think it will pass quickly though. I am looking forward to meetting you. By the way, how do we find pur sailors after PIR? And how long has your daughter been serving?
trevorsmom said… I just looked at my last message. I must have missed some words in there..oops. I amglad you are staying busy. Our son moved out about a year ago to rent my dad's basement and be on his own. But it is tough being on your own, so the Navy is perfect for him. He moved home three weeks before leaving. That made it a little harder for me to say goodbye. But, it was so good to spend more time with him. We celebrated an early Thanksgiving and then his birthday the night before he left. That will be so wonderful to have your family together at PIR. Our oldest cannot come. She has work, but also we are taking a smaller vehicle for the drive and can only fit five of us.
How did you do when the box came back? Our son wore his Navy issued shirt. It did not come back in the box. I have heard that they may not have taken kindly to him wearing Navy Apparel. He loves that shirt so I know he would not have donated it or thrown it away unless he was told to. What is your take on it with your experience?

trevorsmom said… It sounds like your whole family is military. That is very impressive! How are you doing with being an empty nester? Our oldest is 22. She lives with other girls, works and is in your last yr of college. We also have a sixteen yr old daughter and an eleven yr old son. However, I do daycare so we have a lot of little ones running around too. It was a big step for our son to go into the out decision. We are very proud of him.
trevorsmom said… It is definately nice to connect with someone that has a son there. I think my son will be going to A school in Conneticuit. He is going for Sonar Technician on a sub. My son will also have his birthday in boot camp..ugh. He will graduate just six days later. I have heard that if it is their birthday, they should keep it ot themselves. Any idea about that?
trevorsmom said… Great news! Our son will be 20 next month. I just booked at the Navy Lodge for PIR. We will be driving from Minnesota. I have been reading about the free meet and greets on the thursdays before PIR. WE have four children. This is our first one in the military. We are very proud of him and excited to see him. Are you able to attend graduation? What job is your son interested in?
