All of us fly in on Thursday afternoon but depending on Chicago traffic, we could be there anywhere from 6-8pm.
My parents received one phone call the other week (when the were fitted for their dress uniforms). I've gotten a letter every week from Dean. Things are getting better on the morale end. Letters are short but I'm just glad we're getting information. Hopefully all goes as planned otherwise we'll be hanging out in Great Lakes on a mini vacation.

We are staying at the Homewood Suites also! I am counting down the days.
Did you get a letter yesterday? I got a short one since my son went to church and that took a lot of his time. He sounded so upbeat and mentioned that this week was going to be packed. Packed with doing what I don't know but I was glad to hear that the group is doing better.
I also got a letter from his girlfriend who is in DIV 940 and she said that this week is "*ell" week because of all the tests, inspections, and workouts. She said that they get their dress uniforms and pictures taken on Friday.
So glad that you got the graduation packet!!!

Rhetta, I hope that it is our sons who have become friends because David talked about him again in his letter today. He said, "at least I've found someone to talk to and connect with. A couple of weeks ago he was having a hard time with being homesick and what not, so I talked with him and helped him through it, and he helped me last week when I was really starting to feel it." "But I'm better now and we have started talking about after bootcamp because we will both be in Pensicola at the same time."
You are so lucky that you will be close when your son is in A school. Being all the way on the other coast it will be a long time before we get to see our son. Hopefully, Christmas.

Is is your father that is ill? My mother came back from a stroke over a year ago but it was this past May that I had to move her out of her home to a retirement community. Her memory is going and even though she relearned how to write, walk, and read she just shouldn't be living alone. She really would like to go to PIR but I know with her back that she just couldn't stand the walking, standing, and the trip on the airplane. I told her tonight that I would get the DVD and share the experience when we get back. I had to have a talk with David before he left and asked if he wanted to hear if something happened or if it would be too distracting. We decided that he would always be worrying about something going wrong so said that he wanted to know. So far things are going as normal.

I can say that now that I've talked to David I'm more worried about him. He said that his feet are numb from the pinky toes to the back of his foot. :( I was so glad to talk to him but I've cried more since talking to him. He just keeps saying how much he wants letters so I write every day. I also emailed everyone about his call so he should get more letters.
Thanks for writing back.

Rhetta, I thought that I'd read about another mom with a son in Aircrew. My son, David, talked about a friend that he was helping with his homesickness and then who in turn helped him when the homesickness hit him at week three. I think that it may be your son but the connection was bad so I'm not sure he said Posey.
Is your son going to A school in Pensicola and then wanting to be stationed in San Diego?

Are you going to be able to go to his PIR? Since I found out the dates for sure I booked our flights tonight.

I hope that you got a call today, too. It was so good to hear my son's voice and support him from a far. I miss him so much. I was doing good through the whole conversation and then cried all the way home in the car.
