Alumni families of 8/21, lets keep in touch and share this journey together. Our Sailors may be going to different places and have different carrers, but we will always share one thing in common, the PIR date of 8/21
The purpose of this group is to allow family of new sailors assigned to school at Training Support Center Great Lakes a chance to voice questions to a Student Division Commander

My son is going to be in this holding division for a week after graduation. Will he be able to have his cell phone?
Judy I think our kids do battlestations on Tues. But not for sure. In the last letter my son said he will call the Wed before graduation.
For all the families that have loved ones graduating on 8/21/09
I looked at the site and the papers are exactly the same. It doesn't say anything about parking pass on the site page, it says vehicle gate pass. The same one that some of us got with the graduation packet. Let me know if anyone reads it differently.
Hi again. We are staying at home, we are only like 45 miles from the base. We'll have to be up by 4:00 am to get there by 6:00 am but it will be worth it.

I am SOOOO excited to hear your son will be with the Seal Vehicle Delivery Team One! My son Aaron, as Pat mentioned has been with the SVDT located at Pearl Harbor for a year and 4 months, he got there in June 2007. He is a LA(Logistics Analyst) formerly know as SK (Storekeeper), their job was just changed on Oct.1. Actually just a name change, he is still doing the same job. What is your son's job? Did he request Hawaii, or was he just lucky? My son is Petty Officer 2nd class, and he loves Hawaii. He lives in a condo in Ewa Beach that he shares with a roomate(nonNavy). He has done some traveling with the SEALs to California and Washingon State. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll do my best to answer.

Like my guy said that he should have phase 2 by then... my fingers are still crossed. but you said that 2 people have to sign him out? lol do you think my driver counts and the other person. I'm hoping everything goes great!! so how is your son what is he training for?

I jsut have a few more questions. Is there an exact address for the base? i'm flying in on friday and will be in a cab so i need to semi- know where i'm going lol.
Is there a certian time i can go get him? Does it take a long time for me to sign him out? Will my cab be able to be on base? I'm so lost!!

We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
