I joined the navy august 8th (physical test, chose job, and sworn in).. Since then I have been told that i have to attend my dep meetings which i tried my hardest to do. Hi Randy,

Is there any way for you to speak to another Navy recruiter? Perhaps in a different office altogether. It is ashame that this professional is NOT acting professionally, ie accountable, honest and time conscious. Is there a way for you to get a bus to the DEP meetings? It may also be a case where because of the greater desire for recruits to serve that you are being purposely discouraged in a way. If you want to serve then you may have to forge ahead with more intention.

Like Bea S said above, you'll have to ask for and get help with doing things. It takes a team effort in life so ask for help with what you cannot do and do what you can do, for example riding the bus to DEP Meetings. It shows initiative and that you're hungry and you want to earn your way. Personally, I do understand about caring for an ill/elderly family member but it is important for YOU to get the training and education available to you so that you'll have a bright future. I'm sure your family and your granny will understand this.
