Got a phone call and a letter this week from our daughter. She sounds really upbeat and positive. Less than a month until graduation...woohoo.

They will have mail call everyday, so everyday one of your letters arrives he will get it. However, don't expect the same results in return as they are kept super busy with training. What personal time they do get they usually spend preparing them...

Got another letter from my daughter today. She is finishing training week 2, only 35 days until PIR. I never expected our family to be affected so much by her leaving. I guess you truly never know what you have until it's gone. Her little sisters ...

If you not sure the recruiter is giving you correct info, ask to speak with his zone supervisor, the CR (Chief Recruiter), or the EPO (Enlisted Programs Officer/the recruiters boss), to verify anything. Good luck, Rob

I received the form letter with my daughters info yesterday. I'm starting this discussion to help connect any one else with daughters at Great Lakes. It's only been 4 days and I can't wait to see her at PIR. Rob

I'm sorry your son is suffering this. The positive advice I have for you is this doesn't need to be discreet. In the past yes, but not now. The Navy and military overall have come to understand the importance of mental health. Where in the past, i...

Hi Rob,
I see where you are interested in getting to know some basics of the IS program. Feel free to click on my picture here to guide you over to the IS moms group. If you are a Dad that's great too. We already have one Dad in our group although he and his wife (Carl and Irene), are in the process of moving to the backwoods of Oregon, so no telling when we will hear from them again. :( We have discussions on both the IS rate and subspecialties and also info on the schools and VB area. We hope to eventually branch out to our "brother groups (CTs)" with info on their schools and rates as well but one thing at a time. Anyway, you're certainly welcome to join us. Have a great day.
Navy Hugs and thanks to your daughter,
Mary Powell

Hello Rob:
Welcome to N4M’s!
My name is Catherine the Admin and I want to thank you for joining us! To help you know the “Do’s and Don’ts” for the community- I wrote up a quick little ditty for you to read. So click here and read them (pretty please with a cherry on top because the rules are enforced)! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns afterwards- please don’t hesitate to contact me.
So, enjoy your time here and I'm looking forward (along with the community) to reading more about you. :D
Sincerely, Catherine

Judy,
NSF is a non profit organization that provides information for resources for the Navy family. Although we are sponsored by the Navy we are completely self supportive and rely on donations. Can you believe the new CNO didn't know that.

We provide not only reading material but also conduct classes (COMPASS and CORE) for sailors and their families.

You can get info from our website at nsfamilyline.org.

In fact my wife (who was an EPO with a recruiting district and a MEPS commander)told me about N4M because of my work with navy family education. I want to find a way to get info and support to the families and spouses of recruits while they are at GL. I feel this is an area we are missing out on and a lot of new families are suffering for it. I'm hoping we can remedy that with some help from places like N4M.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Rob
