Mark/Sally - Danny called from a pub the first time - here's a video I found from a place called Ravenswood Pub - they hosted a group of recruits. I think there's a decent chance they were there. gh

Dear Mark and Sally - wasn't it amazing to hear from the boys yesterday? Dan said he and Mike were together. He sounded so good - healthy and confident and feeling like he's doing well - that was sooo good to hear. We'll give you a call in the next day or so - we were going to call you yesterday but we didn't want to tie up our phone or yours! They're almost Sailors! gh

Mark/Sally - Danny just called at about 1pm. He and Mike are off the base and together with a couple other kids. I'm sure you got a call too.....man, he sounded really good.

Mark/Sally - please do let us know if you hear more from Mike. We still only got the one letter from Danny which we think was written on the 9th or the 11th. We're hoping the next letter is addressed to us here and not in CP as that takes about an extra 3-4 days to find us here. Also we should be getting the graduation packet soon. We did make ressies at the Residence Inn arriving Wed and leaving Sunday. Same property Mark recommended. We're thinking we may want to bring a little Christmas tree and decorations and celebrate Christmas while we're there.....Glen

Sally/Mark - if we're reading this right, the boys graduate (PIR) on 2 Jan. Don't take that to the bank, but check out this part of the Navy's RTC website....

Sally/Mark - we got the box the same day you did. It sure was nice to see Danny's handwriting on the box - proof that he is actually there! Can't wait to get a letter now! Glen

oh the box. That is a rough one. It was for me anyway. I wouldn't let anyone touch it. I kept it exactly in tact until he graduated from bc and asked for his wrestling sweatshirt to be sent to him. I didn't wash the clothes or anything. Most Moms do that, I found. Some don't but I did. You should get the form letter any day then. It will help to see his handwriting. I didn't get a phone call for about three weeks into bc. That was hard too because I thought I was going to get a nice long call every Sunday for the entire time he was there. Anyway, I hope you hear soon. Let me know.

Do you work at Shen? My sister-in-law works there. Her name is Dianna Henningson. I think 8th grade Math lab for students needing extra help. I'm not sure which one of the schools it is. Let me know when you hear from Michael.

Sally - I know it's hard not having gotten that call, but what's important is we know they did arrive safely and have started their training. And - they're together which should make us all feel better. We will hear from them - it just won't be for a few more days. Just keep reminding yourself how much Mike wants this and how long he waited for this - now he's doing it. He's right where he needs to be, doing what he needs to be doing - and it's something that really, truly matters. We have to take a back seat now and that's hard to do, I know. We have the luxury of having 20 hours/day of work to do on this house for the next few days....so while we think about him a lot, there are distractions. I'd suggest you guys go to a movie, but.... I guess that wouldn't be a distraction for you, would it? :) Also, I can't add you to these groups (Boot Camp Moms) and (Division 907, Ship 6, USS Constitution)...you need to go to Groups and enter that label in the search field to find the group - then join it.
