Hi all! My son Cody isn't there yet, but he will be the 28th of May. I've been lucky so far, because we live in southern WI and he had his schooling at the GL base. He's been there since his PIR the beginning of Oct. 2008. Looking forward to getti...

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
To let go. I have to keep reminding myself, he's a big boy now, and doesn't need his Mommy holding his hand all the time.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger, This was the best decision he/she could have made

An IRISH BLESSING For ALL of our Sailors!

IRISH BLESSINGS

I wish you not a path devoid of clouds,
not a life on a bed of roses.
Not that you might never regret,
nor that you should never feel pain.

No, that is not my wish for you.
My wish for you is:

That you might be brave in times of trial,
when others lay crosses upon your shoulders.
When mountains must be climbed
and chasms are to be crossed;
When hope scarce can shine thru.
That every gift God gave you
may grow along with you,
And let you give the gift of joy
to all who care for you.
That you may always have a friend,
who is worthy of that name.
Whom you can trust,
and who helps you in times of sadness.
Who will defy the storms of life at your side.

One more wish I have for you:

That in every hour of joy and pain
you may feel God close to you.

This is my wish for you

Well, you've had it easier than a lot of us. Not seeing the boys is tough. Saw Josh for 2 weeks then he was on to Gulfport, MS for a month. I hear he may be home for the 4th for 2 days before heading on to Little Creek, VA. Can't wait of couse and hope you are taking your sons absence ok. It's been tough without Josh as he was our source of entertainment!!!

Hi, Sarah! Yes, we survived the tornados. It was pretty scary for awhile, we had to keep all our students in under cover for an extra hour after school was supposed to be out. The damage at Edmond was about eight miles away. Only about 2 miles from my sisters house. We had about 2 to 3 inches of hail, it looked like it had snowed. It was crazy. Thanks for your concern :)! We will talk to you later. How is Sammi doing?

Hey, Sarah, how is everything going there? Hopefully great! I know Cody really enjoys being at your house on the weekends and I want you to know how much I appreciate you opening your home to him. It really means a lot . :) We miss him oodles, yesterday morning his little brother woke up and asked if we were going to pick Cody up at the airport today and I said no I am afraid not and he said but I wub (love) him. : ) I know that Cody will be keeping in touch with you after he leaves GL and I just hope and pray that he makes friends that will keep him in line. LOL How much longer will your Cody be in GL? Well I better go for now. Talk to you later.

Yes, Will almost passed out in ranks last evening and they sent him to the hospital. They gave him a penicillian shot and he called this moring to say that he was feeling better. He had almost 103 temp and an ear infection. I think he also has bronchitis. He sounds terrible. The temp is remarkable because HIS normal temp is only about 96 so he is REALLY sick. He is probably better off staying on base and getting lots of rest for the weekend. There will be other weekends. William will be there for quite a while.

YAHOO!! I heard Will is headed your way this weekend. Hope that will inspire him to work hard this week so he does not end up on mandatory study over the weekend! Please give him a big hug for me!!!
