Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted, Overseas
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid, Needed to learn more about it, Was proud, Encouraged him/her
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Keep you cell phone on all the time!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
This was a maturing experience, This was the best decision he/she could have made
I Am The Mother Of An American Submariner
I give my complete and unwavering support to my submariner.
As my son serves the people of The United States of America, so I humbly offer up my prayers for his safety and the safety and health of those he serves besides.
I respect his choices to adhere to a strict moral code and a system of values that has preserved our country for over two centuries.
I accept that my submariner’s first duty is to his country and I understand that this sacrifice he willingly makes is what keeps our nation great.
I will never expect anything but the best from my submariner, for I know that a submariner’s heart is true and strong and that my submariner will endure.
I will never abandon my submariner, my son.
I will love him unconditionally. He will know I am there for him, even when he is alone.
I am disciplined, emotionally and mentally tough, learning to wait for phone calls, letters and emails home.
I, like my submariner, am serving my country. I stand ready to do whatever I can do to let my son, my submariner, know that I am here for him, beside him, I love him and I will pray for him and those serving with him.
I am the person who stands by this young man who has become a submariner

Hi,Kelly Well Donnie left for boot camp Feb 24th. I just got my first note from him today. It made my day. We have his address to send a letter. I was able to see him sworn in that day. That was great and exciting to see. There was a young man there that day with him that is going to be on a sub. He went to boot camp with him. He said he will start out at a E4 when he gets done with boot camp.
We went on the Sub in Muskegon. It was great to see. I think it would be very hard to be under water for a long time in a sub. You must be very proud of what your son is doing. Talk to you soon God Bless Joyce

Hi Kelly, Things are going well for us. Donnie leaves for bootcamp on Tuesday. I am a little worried, but I know he is in Gods hands, and will be well taken care of. We have slow dial up on the computer so It takes a real long time to load any pictures. It takes hours to do. The joys of living ot in the country. Its nice to see pictures of your family. Talk to you later Joyce

Hi Kelly, I am feeling better today about Donnie going to boot camp. But the time is getting closer and closer. It really must be hard on you and your son to be gone for so long, and not to be able to talk to him. You are a very brave parent. Do you know where the sub is located? (about where) Take care and God Bless Joyce
