I realize that no one has replied to this group for quite awhile, but I thought I would give it a shot. My son John graduated A-school today (ATI) in Pensacola. He still doesnt know where he will be stationed but is hoping for East Coast. He is no...

I will try to figure it out this weekend. plus I want to get my page all tricked up like other pages I see..well maybe not that fancy, but you know what I mean. I'll let you know when the pix are approved and ready to see.
Have a nice weekend! And we'll have to agree not to worry!

Northampton is north of Springfield, south of Greenfield. When I go to Boston and points North, I actually drive out route 2 so I know where you are...my Jon asked for US posts too, but I gues the Navy had other ideas LOL. I hope your son gets one from his wish list. Jon's training continues, though he is not actually in a 'school' at this point. He took the test for petty officer recently so we are waiting to hear about that. His grandfather passed away recently (my ex's side) so Jon's sister and I are going to the memorial tomorrow. I'll bring one of his grad pics to pass around. It'll have to be a stand in for the real thing! there's a lot he can't tell me about what he does, which I guess is OK. i'm also holding a puppy for a friend posted in Afghanistan right now, so I feel like I'm worrying about one or the other of them all the time---you should see the gray hair I've got!! :)

sometimes we talk a lot...sometimes not as much. he's doing 'mids' right now--12 hour overnight shifts and with the time difference it's difficult. we are scheduled to do a skype session this sunday (our first) and I hope I will feel a little better after that. he's also taking two college classes on-line to finish up his degree (long story) and doing some volunteering, so he is really busy. but he manages to talk to dear old mum too! do you know where your son goes next?

hi
he is an IT in Bahrain. He was in FL at the same time as your John too, but shipped out 3 months ago. guess their schools have different lengths?! he also didn't have any hold time so maybe that is the difference? Congrats to you and your son on his graduation. hopefully he will get to spend a little time at home before his next post? I think because of where he was headed, mine got 3 weeks r&r in between A school and the time he had to leave. I'm missing him a lot this week as he celebrated a birthday...he's not as young as some of the kids, but still, I miss him!

Shari,
I looked back on posts on your page and realized your son and mine PIR'd together. March 13--right? Were you able to go? My son was Div 120. I have pix to share (if I can figure out how to load them!) if you weren't able to get there.

Shari -- I'm praying for your son to get through his Battlestations tonight. Then you will get that awesome phone call when he can tell you that he's a sailor! It's such a proud feeling! Have a wonderful time in GL -- dress warm though, it's cold in Illinois (but I'm sure you are used to cold weather where you live). It was a real challenge for us Arizonians (although I'm originally from Minn. -- I should have thought! Can't wait to see you post pics of your sailor!
