Judy, He has asked his unit about signing paperwork and they told him they didn't have a form and it would come automatically. He is getting a bit frustrated. His recruiter is supposed to call them and find out what the problem is.

Thanks Rene! It would be helpful if he knew what the form was. Now his weekend pays seem to be messed up. He received his drill pay for last month, but not this month. So not sure what is going on.

I posted a question under the 'bonus' discussion, was wondering if anyone knew what form they need to fill out to request their bonus. My son's reserve unit said it comes automatically and it has been 2 months and they check the computer and said ...

Hi Judyann! The pinning ceremony was awesome and I posted pics on my page. Kagen's yearbook came the day before we left for San Antonio, so we didn't open it until we got Kagen and went back to the hotel. We were browsing thru the book and thinki...

Just got back from my son's pinning on 9/18/09. It was very informal and nice to be there to see it and to pin on his badge. We did walk over and watch some of the OC spray that day. My son laughed and at the same time had sympathy for them since ...

I think you will like the restarunt, a Mexican family owns and operates it and it has been there for years. It is in the ol market square and there are many shops there to walk around after you eat!
Did I mention that they will let a parent PIN their child? Daddy got to put Josie's badge on her and they will let you stop them at any time to take as many pictures as you want. I found some kids of navy moms who could not go and took their pictures so Mom could see them. I even got a hug or two!

Happy to hear your trip was great and that he graduates soon and gets to come home for visit. I will assume that he still is and that you might get to drive him back home. David got Monday off so has had a 3 day weekend and drove to Florida with another sailor who has a Mom there. He's getting to "see the world" as they say. I have to wait until mid February to be at his graduation from his A School but plan to be there even though it's not a big show. His Power School graduation next fall will be the big one and saving up for that one too. David says Hi back at you all.

So happy for you and Kagan, how did you like SA? Did you go into town and see the sites? Don't know how much time you will have there for graduation but if you go into the old part of town there is a restraunt called Mi' Terra (I think I spelled it right) that has the best Mexican food and a bakery that people from all around the state will come to. I love their home made candies!
We got to have Josie for a few days, a little at a time. She'd visit then go off to see friends then come back and then off again. It was good seeing her. Bet you felt the same!! Have a safe trip home. My inbox won't work either.

David is doing great but then only 5 weeks into a 24 week school. It's great to be able to talk to him more often but since it's a three hour time difference can't just pick up the phone when I am able as by then he's in bed asleep. Hope your trip is wonderful, but then how can it not be, your family together and seeing your sailor.

Sharon, don't know if you've seen this yet but brought me to tears. Hope all is well with you and yours and again jealous you are close to be able to see Kagen, I'll have to wait until Christmas.

Me again, it's early yet but when he goes through the OC Spray, tell him to have baby shampoo, and yogurt or milk on hand. It will burn but the milk products will relieve the pain and the baby shampoo can go into thee eyes to relieve them. He has to have it in his room as he will not be able to get it after the spraying. Also he will get papers that say he completed this and he needs to keep them always! Josie said if she is ever asked to show them and she doesn't have a copy/proof she went through this then she would have to do it again. She did just fine so I know your son will be good too.

We are usually home, my hubby has heart problems so we stay home most of the time. I will PM you my phone # and address so if you get this way just call and we can get together. Have a good visit with your son and it's still hot down there so bring light clothes, it's like taking a sauna!

Thank you for adding me as your friend. I recall that at A school Josie(JAM) had to earn privilages, like being able to wear civilian clothes, then going off base etc. She always had to get the OK to go in any civilian vehicle and she had to be back by curfew. I think the base must have some kind of contract with the cab co.! haha The first time we came to visit, we stayed just down the street at the Travel INN ( not 5 min. away) and she had to take the cab to and from at$8 each way. High way robbery with out a gun!!! Oh well it was worth it to see her. Just make sure your son gets the OK to drive in your car and every thing will be fine.
