Thanks for the info. She had a Aunt die during the earlier part of BC and we waited to tell her and she was very upset that we did not let her know. We have called the red cross and now just waiting for her call.

Our Justin is in Div06 and Ship2341, is Amy still there? Ask her if she knows Justin?
He is in there for his foot and shoulder. I am praying for a quick recovery, I will say one for your daughter also. I have not heard from him this week, hope to get a call on Sunday or at least a letter.

Oh, darn! How frustrating that has to be for Amy. After Dylan's PIR he had to wait a couple of weeks before getting shipped to A school. They hold them in the same facility as the recruits on medical ... he was so bored there. I hope she is not so isolated. BTW ... last I heard from D (a litte over a week ago) he was ok. His ship is still on deployment now. Well, you and Amy hang in there. I'm sure it'll all be fine.

I wasn't able to go to PIR ... but my husband and his sister drove up. One thing that my husband did comment on was how withdrawn Dylan seemed. I guess because for the 8 weeks or so he was in BC he was always "told" what to do, and suddenly being out in the real world it seemed awkward for him to be able to do whatever he wanted to do wthout being told. I saw him while he was in "A" school ... not withdrawn or awkward. :)

When does she PIR? Or, is she through that and already in A school?

Wow. We're really close. We'll definitely meet sometime. So, what is your daughter's rate? Dylan is an MC (mass communications specialist). He's stationed on the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier. He's on his first deployment right now. I'm treating it like BC ... don't expect to hear from him too often but sent a letter every week.

Hi Sharon! So where in Round Rock do you live? I live near Dell Diamond. Both my kids graduated from Stony Point. Dylan (my sailor) also graduated from the University of Houston. So, I think his going in the Navy hasn't been quite as traumatic for me as moms whose sailors go in right from high school. I've already done the empty nest thing.

Sharon, I am not sure if you got an answer yet about the Jury Summons but this is what they told me here in San Antonio. Write on the summons that your daughter is Active duty Navy currently stationed in Great Lakes, IL and sign your name and put that you are her mother. Then just mail it back to them.

Thanks Joni! I went back to work today and this has been good for me. I work with special needs children and they have all told me today that they missed me yesterday. They have saved me from just sitting around crying all day. I'll be out here alot I'm sure. Thank you again! :-)
