Any Mom's of MA's out there?

Evan left yesterday also. I know you are proud, as we are. Did you go to his swearing in ceremony? What is your sons first name so I can pray for him? Keep in touch. Sheila

My son leaves for BC in November. Afterwards, he goes to San Antonio for his MA training. Can anyone give me some idea what he is getting into?

I'll be coming by myself. I'm so glad you started this page. It's strange how this helps keep me close to Kevin but it does.

Hoping for a phone call on Thanksgiving but I won't hold my breath. This is only Evan's 2nd week so he probably won't get to call. Maybe the RDC has a small soft spot, NAH!! that would probably be against regulations.

My sons pant legs were rolled up too. Whats up with that?

Cindy D, we live in NC so we are going to fly. Our other son is going also. He's a junior in high school but I think the days he misses will be waived for this occasion. How many people are going with you? Kiyum, shuttles might be the way to go. ...

You are right Cindy Proud Mom of a Nuke. My son kept asking my advice on whether he should go now or wait. I said " your 19 , its time for you to jump in and start your life". I miss him so bad but I know he is doing something that makes him happy.

Zach's is Ship 3 Division 047. We called the recruiter a few days after he left and he gave us the address. He left on Thurday Nov. 5th and we had his address on Monday. He has been gone two weeks today. The longest two weeks of my life! I hope to get a real letter or a call within the next week. Let me know when you find out Evan's division. I hope you have a great day today! I'm headed to a meeting in Asheville. Hang in there!!

Thanks for the sweet note! I'm sure you have had your 30 sec call by now and now you are waiting for the box! We received our form letter on Monday and Zach was able to write a few lines to us. This is so hard! We live in Marion, NC so you are not too far from us. I hope you are doing ok with this adjustment. I will add you to my prayer list!!!

Dear Sheila,
I know, it's so hard. When I watched Kim's van pull off, I felt like my heart was torn out of my chest. It will get easier each day.

That's why I press on about keeping in touch with other Navy moms.
I'm here every single day. I couldn't have made it through Boot Camp, without the other Navy moms, to help me through. We keep one another's sanity going here! HAHA! We even pray for one another.

I'm glad you remembered, patience. WHen you recieve the box next week, it will leave an empty feeling. We all went through this.

Then the following week, the Form letter, you'll feel some hope and relief when you recieve this. It'll have Evan's address along with his Division
and SHip number. Now you can write to him. On the back will have a couple of sentences from him.

But keep in mind, when you recieve his first letter, sometimes it's sad. Don't panic. His letters will get more uplifting. The first letter comes around the third week. You may even get a phone call from him, as well.

Let me run. I just got the computer now, it's after 2 AM.
Please stay in touch.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Sheila,
So Monday is the big day. Bring tissues. We even stayed to watch Kim and the other Navy recruits pull off in a van. Let me tell you, it felt like my heart was torn out. We all went through this. That's why I say the Navy for moms is really a true blessing. We keep one another's sanity going.! HAHA!

You must be so turkeyed out! HAHA! I'm not a turkey lover, But I enjoy the neck and wings! HAHA! Last year, when we had the Thanksgiving a week before, with Kim, her and I split the neck. I had the whole thing to myself the following weekend! HHA!

The Holidays are rough. this is my second time around now. But God bless the friends our children make in the Navy. They all go out to eat together. So they're not alone on the holidays. I'm grateful to God for that.

Now with Toys R Us advertizing things for Christmas, I'm looking at future toys for my little guy already! HAha! I'm checking off, "okay age 1 and that's for age 2-3 "HHA!!
God bless you and your family.

Let me get going. You'll be fine on Monday, but bring tissues, it is emotional.
Please stay in contact.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Sheila,
How are you doing today?
Are you going to have a farewell dinner/ party for Evan?
I had one for Kim in her favorite Chinese Buffet. It didn't hit me that she was really leaving, until I saw the poster my older daughter had made up. Than I cried! HAHA!

That's the worst part, missed birthdays and holidays. I'm on my second time around. I do talk to Kim, but it's not the same as being with me.
Last year, when she was finally given her orders where she'd be stationed, she came home for 12 days. She had to leave a week before Thanksgiving.
So I cooked the whole Thanksgiving diiner for her. Then I did it again on Thanksgiving. I didn't want to see turkey for another year.! HAHA!

Kim was going to come up for Thanksgiving this year, but plans changed.
After Christmas I'm going down to her, she's pregnant. Her due date is Jan 2.
I'm sop excited! HAHA! I can't wait to hold the baby.

Let me get going. You'll be fine. Please, stay in contact.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
