Happy Thanksgiving to All! My sailor said he plans to see three movies today...I think missing out on the first holiday of his life is getting to him a little (me, too!). Thanks to those who posted pictures of this ship! Have a wonderful day!!

Thanks for the info, Jeanette! I ordered one. Is payphone the only method of contact while sailors are out to sea?? Can they e-mail, text, or use cell phones? (sorry if these are silly questions--I'm new!)

desertdweller-- My son was told that he can not be stationed out of the country, also. He had a red-light violation (which was paid and he attended defensive driving school). I didn't know about the student loan restriction!!

Sherry I'm so sorry about the ticket situation. I have Kyle heads up just in case it's a problem for him too. He was told the same thing that it would be ok. His ticket was for not wearing a seat belt as a passenger in a car.

Do our kids get to stay in the rooms with us after graduation, or do they have to go back every night to the barracks? My mother-in-law is going with us so I got 2 rooms, but was thinking maybe the family room would be better. Any ideas?!

You cannot imagine how helpful this support has been for me. Thank you. I so appreciate it. I know you are getting ready to go for his PIR soon and would love to meet you when you get back. I live in the Tatum/Dynamite area. We could, perhaps, grab a Starbucks and chat. Only 10 days until he leaves. :( This is so hard! I am relieved to hear that I shall adjust.
