ok - I do understand that - but my son is leaving for Spain with only ONE other Sailor (he is an MA) - is that deployed???
This is something that his truck insurance and cell phone companies asks - and I want to be able to tell them correctly!

Hi - First, I want to say thank you for your service!!

I have a question - what is considered "deployment". For example, I just saw you told someone that boot camp is not deployment - that is understandable - because it is just training. What about when they go to some other country, like Guam, Spain, Italy, Japan - that is not a war zone - is that deployment. Is deployment only on ships? Why is Kuwait a was zone - because it is so close to Iraq?
