Hi, all.......my daughter has just arrived on the Nimitz (been there about 10 days) & absolutely loves it (1st deployment). She's up on the flight deck (a blue shirt, she says) & also says her job "rocks".
Pat, thank you for the information on the ombudsman. My daughter just arrived last week on the Nimitz so how to get in touch with the ombudsman is key.

Donna said… - Nothing wrong with being close to home. She will get to see more then CA. I'm excited that the boys will be on the east coast. That means when they are in port over the holidays they can come home. Did she get a job or is she unasigned.

- Hi Stacy. John told me Ruthie was having problems. She will find her place. John leaves tomorrow. He will be comming home for a few week then off to his ship which is out on deployment so he will be gone for a few months. He did well in MM school. Him and Matt are both stationed in VA. Its nice having them both together. Keep me posted on Ruthie. I'm sure she will do well. It just takes time to find the right place for her.

- Yeah, John said the class is harder then he thought it would be. More book work, He is a hands on kind of guy. I hope they both pick it up and do a wonderful job. John is also looking at VA or SD. No word on any order yet. His third pick was Guam. I could have killed him for that one. But everyone tells me its beautiful there. Glad she is doing well and Glad to see you are too.

- Morning Stacy, How are you and your Barbie doing. Hope Ruthie has settled into the Navy world. John tells me they had to march for 3 hours the other day. Not sure if Ruthie is in the same unit that John is in. He is coming home for the 4th. I will be so glad to see him. I know it hasn't been that long but it does seem like forever. Keep in touch.

Vi said… - Hi Stacy, Kyle was able to come home for a few days over this past weekend and it turns out that your daughter is in his ship and they talk to each other alot. We, of course use only first names, and they use only last names, so it took a little to figure out that we were talking about the same sailors. I was telling him about the nice pics of Ruthie, yourself , Kylie and Lisa. When he seen her pic on my "moms" page he said, yep, that her. Nice that they were in the same Div in BC and now also at A school. Makes getting used to a new inviroment a little less difficult.

- Hows Ruthie doing? John is fitting in well, Making new friends, I hope Ruthie is one of them. He never really says. He did tell me they had a four day weekend and that was a treat, felt great to wear regular clothes. The things we take for granted.

Kylie will be home June 5th from A School and then she is off to Little Creek, Virginia where she will be stationed. She is really excited about that. She will be with a Sea Bee Unit. How is Ruthie doing? Hope all is well.

I know that soon he'll get his orders and I'm not going to worry about that until then. He might go out for sea duty, you never know.
