I told my son I could 'find' him a place to go for Thanksgiving, but he'd already had 3 invites from folks he works with. I remember when I was a kid and my dad was in the Air Force and we were living in Germany, my dad would always invite the guy...

Glad that some of you will get to see your sailors for the holidays. It's been a little over a year since I've seen mine. (at his PIR) He's not coming here for any of the holidays. If I'm lucky, I may get him this summer.

Karen, I showed your pictures to my husband and we have decided that we absolutely have to use one of them as our wallpaper on the computer. The beach scene now greets us each time we look at the computer screen, if we aren't actually working on s...

Under Armor is great moisture wicking gear that many athletes wear to help keep them cool...or warm, depending on the item or the season. This site has a lot of it without all the glitzy video stuff the underarmor official site has. I couldn't fin...

.It's nice to have a site like this for moms! I can only imagine how left out parents feel when the child goes to bootcamp! Chris wrote me every week but Im not sure how often his mom got letters! But she did get his phone call or 2!

Im glad Chris was able to drive everyone down although to be honest with you, I was scared to death!!!! His driving scares me sometimes. When we go to busy cities, Im the one that drives, not hubby! But my vehicle made it home safe with all passengers 100% in tact so he must not have done too bad!! I have met your son a few times prior to Friday and your right he is a good man. Whenever he has been to our home he has always been very polite and respectful! It was funny, when he got here Friday I was talking to hubby in our room and suddenly our son runs in and says "One of daddys rock band friends are here!". Which means my son really likes your son!

Have you been able to visit this area yet? If not, you'll have to see it! This place sure can be beautiful! I know how hard it can be to travel to visit! My dad and my mom came out here from the east coast to visit once each but we are normally the ones who fly home! Hubbys family is in Georgia, my mom was living in FL before she passed away and my brother still lives in Fl, while my father and the rest of my family is in West Virginia! I will be so happy when we can move to the east coast and be closer to family!

Hi Sue. You don't know me but my husband is the one who drove your son and the other guys to see there friend in the hospital Friday. When hubby got home that night he showed me the caringbridge site! As I looked more through it yesterday I kept seeing comments about this site so I figured I would check it out. Then I saw your updates and put 2 and 2 togather! I have to say I think it is so sweet how you have passed the word onto this group! Its amazing how many women from this site have left comments for him!

Sue, I see that you live in Wylie. We lived there for 13 years, raised our boys there (for the most part). Our son is a submariner - currently stationed in Kings's Bay, GA. We currently live outside of Atlanta, GA - but miss Wylie something terrible... but heard it has changed drastically since we left in 2000..

OK, Missie. I see you got me on the friends list first. I can't tell you how great it was to meet you and your hubby. There were 26 of us. What a great turn out. Please e-mail me your address and phone. I would love to come to Wylie for lunch one day. Hope you have a restful Sunday. Your friend, Kate

I saw you are coming to Waco. I hope my husband comes - I know he'll be exhausted, but he needs some fun time, he usually goes with me to these.
Patrick is my only son too! I am looking forward to meeting you.

Sue I agree with what you are saying about talking while driving. My son use to play on a soccer team named the Hawks so everytime we went to a game and saw a hawk we thought it was good luck. Even today I still think of it when I see one. I do try to thank God for the simple things instead of always asking for help. Since the sun is out I will probably be thanking him tomorrow for the spring like weather--it always makes me feel better. Take care.

Sue,
Glad to hear you are bringing your husband. I am bringing mine too! I was gone to Sea Cadet weekend last week and did not want to go off and leave him again.
