"Thanks for info on Navy Lodge. I am going to try to make reservation there and check into back up place as well in case we can't get pass for on and off base. Anyone have a suggestion of a reasonable priced, nice hotel as a back up?"

hi Susan
I saw your post on PreBuds, and my son will be PIRing a week after you and I have all the same questions. If you find any answers would you please let me know and I will do the same? I just wanted to know where they live between BC and PreBUds, he said he would move the wednesday following PIR. He also said he cannot take anything from me at graduation and I'd have to ship it to him. Have you heard anything on Christmas break for these guys and would our guys be in the same Pre Buds class?

Hi Susan,
I am from Goldsboro about 1 1/2 hours from you. My son PIRs on 11/21. This has been a long 8 weeks but it is almost here. I can hardly wait. Glad to meet someone else who lives close and is almost the same distance into this journey. What will your son be doing in the navy?

hi susan, welcome! well pir is on a friday. you will be able to spend the weekend with them with a few restraints. 1) they have to return in the evenings. 2) they will be asigned duty for part of one of the weekend days or evenings. but wont know till that weekend. for example: they have duty from 8 am to noon on sat. you probably cant see him till 12:30 sat. afternoon. what i did was stayed till monday morning (we were w/in driving distance) because i knew i wouldnt want to leave trav till i had to. which if i remember right is 8 pm on weekends. then after grad they will still be in bc till wed. then they go across the street for a couple mo. hope that helped
