Susan....I would prefer to meet at my house. The parking in that area is not great I would prefer not to leave my car in that area.

I will be ready at 0830 hours.

Hello, Susan
I'm sorry I missed o message. I haven't been on the site lately, due to familiy issues (hubby had surgery, daughter had swine flu), and studying for my State exam. I would not have been able to go to the get together. How was it?

Hi Susan, No thank you on the offer to carpool. I have already made plans to spend the night Saturday (the 24th) at my Mom's in Manteca. And then leave for Los Altos from there Sunday morning. So I will see you at Bea's. Take care.

I'm thinking Sierra College and 80, there's a few places we can meet. I'll have my husband take me. Looking forward to meeting you and the other mom's.

I have a job that I enjoy, night Auditor at a Holiday Inn Express in the town I grew up in, which makes me VERY familiar with everything around here. When i worked the 3 to 11 shift, I was more like a concierge, giving people directions and/or maps, recommending restaurants and activities, calling for taxis, and all that sort of stuff. I do miss the interaction with guests, though. I just wish the job paid a living wage; there's no way I could make ends meet if it wasn't for my boyfriend. I know Texas is supposed to be a relatively cheap place to live, but that's depending on your point of view. $300 a week is not a lot of money for anyone, although I can remember a time not too long ago when that was a LOT of money. LOL, guess I'm showing my age.

I've emailed the ombudsman for the whole command and the ombudsman for the submarine command. Maybe somehow I'll hear something soon.

About me:
I was laid off from my job at the courts, so am working with that change in my life. I am blessed to serve the Nevada Sierra District of United Methodist Women as it's president. My home church is the Methodist church that was in Hallmark's "Christmas Card".
My husband is the only retired fire chief, truly the only retired fireman for our county at all. He is also the primary care giver for his parents (both now 88 & 89).
We have a family of vets -the picutre includes some of them.
Our daughter has blessed us with our nine year old grandson.
Our sailor is married and has blessed us with his girls (wife and two daughters). We are working on our family genealogy and finding lots of research to do - we have just started.
I am here to support or represent my:

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I am not alone. There are other mom's who are sharring the same concerns - even the hurt, loss of connection and communication as well as frustrations. We are all learning together, and supporting each other. It is great to be able to learn about others, and be of help. Especially when our Sailor is so QUITE. It is an awesome choice to be a part of, and support him and his family.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
The Navy was not the right path for my loved one/me.
