Hi SG7 Moms and families. I'm a Navy Mom whose son is an OS aboard the Gridley. This will be our 2nd deployment, and I'm planning on this being my 2nd homecoming in San Diego upon their return! My thoughts are with all of the SG7 families and sail...

Hi Suzy. I just saw your friend request. I have hardly been online in May. My son was home on leave for two weeks (how glorious!) and we changed servers and I just found out a few days ago that I can still get access to e-mail through my old e-mail address. Anyway, I'm so glad to have other Gridley families to communicate with during this deployment!

Hi Suzy, thanks for the reply...what is an OS? You said that you searched Gridley and found friends....how did you do the search?

Hey Suzy, so good to hear from another mom who has a son on the Gridley. What is your son's job? I just noticed that my daughter-in-law (Krista) is also one of your friends! That is so cool....she and I also shared friends on N4M while Justin was in boot last year. I really hurt for Krista today, dropping Justin off at the ship for their deployment. Hopefully they will be back in time for the baby's birth....it will be close...it is hard for me having Krista so far away esp. while she is alone and pregnant. But I guess that is the life of a sailor's wife/mom ....

Hi, we will have to get together and compare notes! We are soooo proud, but I am also a little nervous. This is Steven's 1st deployment.

Dear Suzy,
How are you doing this evening? I'm still learning my way around here, and I've been writting a year now!! HAAHA!

How does your son like that line of work?
Kim hasn't really worked at the radar yet, since her ship is docked. SHe was also cross trained, which is good. One of these years her ship will pull out!! UGH! SHe's with the USS Normandy since last November, but the ship just came back from deployment.

How long is your son in the Navy now?
So far Kim loves it but is bored. She can't wait to see other countries.

I hope to hear from you again.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara

Dear Suzy,
How are you doing? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
I see your child is also an OS, so is my daughte Kim.

Kim is stationed in Virginia on the USS Normandy.

Do you have a son or a daughter?
I hate this New profile, it doesn't have new moms that write in give information.

I hope to hear from you again.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
