The military get in free when they tour the Midway in San Diego also. The military get in free or at least get a discount into most places. Just let your sailors know to ask when they purchase tickets

Hey, my son found out that in SanDiego that military personnel get in free at Sea World and the SanDiego Zoo. He had a lot of fun. Just wanted everyone to know so they can pass it on to their Sailor at Camp Pendleton.

When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
always support in what ever your children want to do with their lives.
Learn as much as you can about the jobs your sailor will be doing, because they don't always tell you everything. lol I ove Navy moms.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

My Sailor is Home

What a emotional day, watching my son walk out of that airplane in uniform, he was very handsome. We had several people walk up to him thanking him for his service to our country. WOW! That makes me cry again just thinking about it.
We stayed up to the wee hours of the morning just talking about all his adventures in Chicago, Glad I wasn't there he was having way to much fun. He made so many friends that now have gone onto their new journeys, he says he will miss them. I wish them all well.
He wi… Continue

So Proud but very worried!

When my son called to tell us that he was joining the Navy, I could feel my stomach just ache. But I knew it has been something that he has talked about for a long time, but never thought he would do it. I was very happy after he graduated from high school when he deceided to go to school. My mind was at ease knowing that after watching the news during this time of war my son was not one of the men there. Then 4 years later he changed his mind.

Now here I am, a mom of an Navy Sailor. so very pr… Continue

Tamie!!! You better get on the Camp Pendleton group and defend your spelling of corsmen. I think it's a great way to spell it. Never could understand why they had to have the word 'corps' in there. Always makes me think of a dead person! Anyway, hope all is well with you in the Oregon world. Morgan's in Michael's neck of the woods for at least another week or two. How is he doing. How are you doing. Would love to hear from you. I stopped by Rick & Sue's last weekend (I had given you her email address because her son was in the Marine unit you were asking about). She said she never heard from you. If you want her current email address, let me know. She no longer has the one I gave you. Found that out when I was talking to her.

Tamie ~ Can you help answer the question Beth ask in the CP group? Since you created it, you get to read it all anyway! Hope things are going well for you. Don't see your name pop up much anymore! How's Michael?

My gosh Tamie! I had no clue there were so many discussions about corpsman! I just now found a ton of them and have made comments to a few. I hope you don't mind, but I've been inviting them to the CP group. Figured if they had corpsman wanting to go FMTB, it was a good group to get them involved with. Hope things are going well for you. Had a couple of surprise phone calls from Morgan since he's been up in the mountains. He's really hard to hear, but it's always a joy to hear his voice. The first time I wasn't going to answer it because it was an area code I didn't recognize. I slipped into BC days and realized it could be him! Now, everytime my cell rings in the evening, I hope to see that area code. Ya never know when BC days are going to hit again, do ya!

Hi Tamie

it's been a crazy couple of weeks--life is like that sometimes. I am so excited, Joey will be here in 2 weeks! This will be his last visit home before deploying for 8 months. He just got back from a month out to sea--thank God for email:)

I hope all is well for you and your family.

Take care,

Annie

Tamie, Thank you for the information about the Navy Symbol. I found it!
That's a great idea about using it on the cake. I'm thinking I just may use your idea. :-) Thanks you again. Gayle

Hi Tamie

it's good to have other moms to talk with that truly understand.

Joey left for bc at the end of August. It was amazing to see him at graduation--such a mature man altho I thought too skinny lol He is stationed in San Diego on the Nimitz. He is loves SD...he has a lot of friends attending college there. I can't wait to visit him and tour the ship.

I look forward to hearing more about you and your family.

Have a great weekend

Annie

Hi Tamie,

I'm in Saint Helens... welcome to navyformoms ... :-) I found out about this site about almost 6 months ago... haven't been real active with it because of work and my involvement Oregon Patriots group on Resistnet.com ...

But it's good to know that I can read up on events going on in the Navy and chat with other Navy Moms... it helps a great deal :-)

He is in FMTB right now. He graduates May 20. I asked him if he knew Michael. He said he didn't. When did he graduate Corps School?

Fred joined the Navy January 2008, but didn't leave for boot camp til June. He has also been at Camp Pendleton since Dec. But was at the Naval Hospital until the March FMTB.
