Tammy, I got a message from Tim and this is what he said to do if you are having trouble getting through to your son recruiter .Call the recruiting office and ask to speak to the RiNC (Recruiter-in-Charge). If that doesn't work call a station in the same area and ask for the Zone Supervisors name and number. That should do he trick. Hope this helps. Hugs to you.

There is a recruiter on here who's name is Tim Talbott if you go under the members tab and type in his name his picture will come up . Click onto his picture and you will get his page. He maybe able to answer questions that you and your son have if his own recruiter is not very helpful, I hope this helps you . There is also a recruiter on here for subs and one for surface ships. If you go to the members tab and search for sub recruiter or surface recruiter they should come up. Let me know if they are of help to you.

Tammy that would be the date that he swears in and goes to great lakes. If he is in the Delayed entry program does he meet with his recruiter once a week? There are a couple of recruiters on this site let me see if I can find them.

Welcome aboard! Hang on tight, you're in for the ride of your life. Boot camp is a very stressful time, but you'll get through it. Everyone does.

Stock up on cards and stamps NOW. Skip the musical cards because many RDCs make the recruits do extra PT if someone gets one.

I sent my son a card EVERY DAY that he was at Great Lakes and he said it meant a lot to him. I didn't realize how much until we brought some of his stuff home after graduation and he had saved every one of them -- including the stupic pictures I sent him (jakes and cartoons and stuff that people send in emails). The bag weighed almost 7 pounds!

He's still at Great Lakes for A-School but he's COMING HOME in early December before shipping out for Japan right after Christmas.

I graduated from Georgia College in 1991 and have worked at The Children's Hospital since then so I probably saw you when you did your peds rotation.

PLEASE don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything I can do for you...

Hi Tammy, Yes they do have a swearing in before they leave for boot camp. He will propably spend the night at the same hotel that my son did the night before, then they get them up at 3 am and they eat and go over to the meps station by bus I think,Then they start all of the paper work, they get another physical and meet with the job classifier again and when all of their stuff is done they swear in a large group, they let the parents in to watch and let you take pictures. It can be a long day! or a short one. they will swear in 3 or 4 groups throughout the day. They have a lunch room to feed them lunch ,or you can go get take out and bring it into him. When it is time for him to go to the airport they will take him in a van. If it is a long wait for his flight you can go to the airport and wait with him. When our son left the meps station he only had a little over an hour before his flight left so we did not go to the airport. Did you say that he does want to go on a sub or he does not want to? If he wants to change that he will have to talk to his recruiter now.
